21. Not really..
The Hayward Fault doesn't produce 8+ earthquakes.

22. But it could not be foreshocks either
That fault as been having quite a bit of activity as I am sure you know.

23. Oh I know...
But that's a very active portion of the fault also. I'm not saying that it can't possibly be a foreshock but from what I understand, the most we can expect from a full rupture of the Hayward fault is about a 7.2.

25. Well that is good
I gotta worry bout the ones round me, like tecolote, thought to be capable of a 7.0 on a god day...

It's been bewy, bewy quiet.

Take care.

:hi:

And let's hope it's nothing even if in geologic times both will go.

14. It felt worse. Two 4.2 earthquakes in one day. Pretty freaky.
My poor husband is tracking down all the flashlights... making sure we have water. After the '89 earthquake, he slept in his clothes for 2 weeks with a flashlight clutched in his hand and every time the upstairs neighbor walked around above us, he'd jump out of bed and shine the light in my face, wake me up and yank me out of bed.

He's sighing with worry like crazy right now. I've a feeling it is going to be a long restless night!

reason for eq's.

It didn't feel nearly as strong as the first one. The first one came in two waves. The second wave was really, really strong.

20. I've never been more sure
the world was coming to an end than when the second earth quake hit So Cal the day of the Landers/Big Bear quakes in 1992. They were very large quakes. One quake alone has never made me feel so terrified.

Stay safe up there.

walked by Occupy Berkeley - the damn earthquakes were centered at UC Berkeley. I'm a little "shaky", as you can imagine.
