Asked if the president appeared weak, Romney said, “I think one of the comments I’ve heard from individuals abroad is that in the past, America has been feared sometimes, has been respected, but today, that America is seen as being weak... "
hereYour observation is correct, but your analysis is flawed.
(Interesting switch from the president to the country, but nevertheless...)
We are not weak because we didn't send American kids to die alone on a Libyan street so you can feel like a bigger man.
We are weak because, well, let Alan Grayson tell it
"...Wall Street wrecked the economy three years ago and nobody's been held responsible for that. Not a single person has been indicted or convicted for destroying 20% of our national net worth accumulated over the course of two centuries...Wall Street has iron control over the economic policies of this country... one party is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wall Street and the other party caters to them as well!"
Mittie, you flip-flopping fool, we are weak because we have 24 million people who can't find a full-time job because there aren't enough jobs. Why should they fear a country in which 50 million people can't afford to see a doctor when they get sick, or where 47 million need government help JUST TO EAT. How in the hell could they respect a country where 15 million people owe more on their homes than the house can possibly sell for, caused by the fraudulent and/or irresponsible actions of thousands of people in the financial sector and our government who, with taxpayer money, continue to sit in their chairs, dip their claws into hundreds of millions of dollars in salary and bonuses whenever they can, and laugh at people while they escape having to defend their actions in criminal court.
(with thanks to Alan Grayson,
hereDid you have to study hard to become a phony, bloviating blowhard? If on this important issue you can't figure out what is going to make us strong again and bring it to the table, don't waste our time.
