Fox Attacks Facebook Jobs Initiative After Tea Party Started Pressuring Businesses Not To Hire
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201110200023

October 20, 2011 6:00 pm ET by Solange Uwimana

Two days ago, as Right-Wing Watch reported, leading tea party group Tea Party Nation sent a message to its members calling "for a strike of American small businesses against the movement for global socialism." Activist Melissa Brookstone wrote:

I, an American small business owner, part of the class that produces the vast majority of real, wealth producing jobs in this country, hereby resolve that I will not hire a single person until this war against business and my country is stopped.

I hereby declare that my job creation potential is now ceased.

"I'm on strike!"

On the heels of this initiative to pressure companies not to hire employees, Fox is complaining about a company trying to help unemployed Americans find jobs:

3. Considering this requires dissociating from reality, I think you're on to something.

19. Yeah. They will completely destroy the lives of their enemies, and teach
others to do the same, just so they can win.

and couldn't see exactly what her small business was. Anyone know? I think the public needs to know this particular business is begging for the failure of America.

7. I looked on FB
There is only one person with that name there. She does not list her business but she lives in Denver, worships Ayn Rand and she is a member of something called the 9-12 Project. I saw someone there talking about getting together for a barbecue and weapons training. :scared:

From there I learned about a site, conservative underground dot com, and that is the most vile, disgusting thing I have ever seen. They seem to be planning their own little revolution and it won't look anything like OWS. I sure hope someone is keeping an eye on that, but I'm sure they must be. Psychopaths, beyond a doubt.

10. 9-12 Project was Glenn Beck's thing
I didn't know it was still going. Thought he'd called that one big rally in Washington and then let it die.

11. I have Glenn
on ignore so I had never heard of it before. But I saw the FB page for the Denver chapter by checking out Ms. Brookstone's profile and it (9-12) has just under 1,000 members. It's not a very active page, but it still lives. They're just on stand-by, it seems, waiting for their call to duty.

13. Speaking of Glenn
Just learned this:

"SOUTHLAKE — Television personality and political commentator Glenn Beck plans to move his media production studios into the former Gateway Church building on Southlake Boulevard.

Gateway Church moved out of the 60,774-square-foot building a year ago to a much larger campus on Texas 114. The Southlake Boulevard building includes a 16,873-square-foot auditorium that seats 1,700 people. The zoning proposal indicates that a live audience would be present for some TV tapings."

That's in Fort Worth

5. How can any working person support the tea party?
This is just weird - weren't Tea Party politicians elected in 2010 by promising jobs? Now they're guaranteeing no one will be hired and expecting the population that's still unemployed and pissed off to get behind this decision? Just exactly how out-of-touch can you get? How can they expect this to NOT backfire on them? It's not like out-of-work American voters support their continued unemployment.

8. Again . . . I ask . . .
WHAT CHANGED??

What "WAR on Business"???

This is all bullshit.

Stocks have never been better. Corporate profits are gangbusters. Not ONE of your fucking taxes have been raised. Your "socialist President" is giving you every goddamned thing you motherfuckers ASK for!!!!

What is this delusional "War on business"??

If there's any lack of revenue, it's due to the fact that large employers underpay and fire their workers, causing a massive lack of demand for ANY business. If you're waiting for the other guy to start hiring, think again, assholes: that guy's waiting for customers to walk through the door and spend. They cannot DO that if they have no spare money, and they can't GET spare money unless you raise their wages or start HIRING. And around and around and around and around we go . . .

Maybe it's because all of these shit-eating Republican scumfucks are too goddamned cowardly to reveal their real problem - That they simply will do whatever the hell it takes to see a Democrat fail and fail big, because this country's needs are less important than WINNING!! Why don't these cowardly fucks just ADMIT IT??? They aren't fooling ANY of us.

16. Any time you hear the word "job creators" you know it's code for "trickle down economics"
The Republicans continue their insane belief that if you just cut taxes on the rich and end regulations of business, they will reach into their money pouches and hire people. If these so-called job creators really thought they could make money (and it's all about money), they'd beg, borrow, and steal the capital to hire more people. They wouldn't wait for favorable tax rates or the lessening of regulations. As every sane person knows, it's only when demand increases that employers will start hiring to produce goods and services to meet the increased demand. And it's only when the middle class starts gaining more wealth that demand will increase.

Since it's all about the money, employers will leave Melissa Brookstone and her psychotic delustions in the dust the moment that demand increases and they realize they can make more profits by hiring people.

18. She's not a small business owner. She's a wannabe author. Here's a link to her book
http://www.amazon.com/Planetary-Bill-Rights-Project-Prosperity/dp/1456503588/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319237985&sr=8-1

One person review of the book: This author is very ill. No ability to use reason and logic, as one should when putting together a book that purports to define policy. No ability to comprehend actual history or factual data when coming up with bizarre ideas that are so transparently fascist (or if one prefers, corporatist). The entire worldview expressed in this thing is based on a premise: greed and corporate profit are deities; this underlies everything in the book, and one should know this before reading it. If the extremist fringe ideas in this book were actually implemented, the U.S. would be in a race with third world countries: who can trash the environment the most? Who can coddle the dictators the best? Who can mistreat and throw away workers the fastest? How can we get our workers into corporate shacks, working for substenance? Is THIS what positive reviewers of this awful piece of illogical junk want?

Remember that the author of this junkpiece is the same traitorous person who is now spreading the word: she wants American businesses to stop hiring people, in order to sabotage the economy and hurt President Obama's chances of being re-elected. Anyone whose "logic" tells them that it is a good thing to sabotage - yes, her words - the economy for political gain is not someone whose ideas should be promoted.

the way Sam Wurzelbacher is a plumber. Selling stuff you find in your mom's basement on E-Bay is not a small business.
