2. Great photo . . . BUT devoid of any commentary or context, I
am unsure what I'm looking at.

Care to elaborate?

Not a snark, but a request for more background.

17. I saw something about it going down to 34 degrees a couple of nights ago
That was when the protesters were complaining about the authorities turning on the fire sprinklers over them -- apparently a tactic routinely used to drive homeless people away.

8. Yee haw, whup 'em sonzabitches!
Wait; is today a day we celebrate violence inflicted on unarmed persons or not? I get confused so easily anymore. I keep going with a principle that seems sound, but there are all these exceptions, and I'm never quite sure if we celebrate or abhor mob violence on any given day.

22. Rule of Law?
State of Colorado Constitution
Section 3. Inalienable rights. All persons have certain natural, essential and inalienable rights, among which may be reckoned the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberties; of acquiring, possessing and protecting property; and of seeking and obtaining their safety and happiness.

No law shall be passed impairing the freedom of speech; every person shall be free to speak, write or publish whatever he will on any subject, being responsible for all abuse of that liberty; and in all suits and prosecutions for libel the truth thereof may be given in evidence, and the jury, under the direction of the court, shall determine the law and the fact.

New York State Constitution
§9. 1. No law shall be passed abridging the rights of the people
peaceably to assemble and to petition the government, or any department
thereof;

Constitution of the United States of America

Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

33. I always wondered why protesters don't wear riot gear themselves.
You're not even going to feel the baton in riot gear.
And good luck slapping handcuffs on someone with all that padding around their arms.

And, if you need another reason, wouldn't the cops think twice about beating the crap out of someone in riot gear? They'd wonder "is this person a cop?"
