had to go onto "the view" in order to try and talk to them during the 2010 election. But now the GOP has to try to keep that bubble up at a time when Americans are looking around for answers because of unemployment and things like OWS and foreign policy success takes place. Boehner and his staff would not take a conference call from the WH today. There are secret town hall meetings for GOP candidates. Cantor refused to keep a speaking engagement at the Wharton School of Business because 300 members of the general public would be let in. Does it reek of desperation?

1. Yes, but the support they get is immense.
I think this is their big fall, but because of the support, we can't let up.

2. And was it Cantor today who would not give a speech because it
was going to be in front of a non-partisan crowd?

3. my rep has done two of these phone townhalls
I wouldn't call them *secret*, at least not in the sense that they are talking about something no one else is. I personally think they are scared shitless of holding open townhalls - because they know they cannot control the situation, and between the bagger nutjobs and truly angry desperate voters -- they run the risk of being tarred and feathered.

They KNOW they are up shit's creek. They just are too cowardly to face their constituents.
