'Survivor' star wants to be Indiana governor
On 2004's Survivor: All-Stars, Rupert Boneham was so popular that he won $1 million as the overwhelming choice for fan favorite.

Now he's hoping for votes again.

Boneham, 47, announced Saturday that he's seeking the Libertarian Party nomination for governor of Indiana, reports AP, saying he wants to take on the state's political establishment because he feels voters deserve better.

At a news conference in Indianapolis, Boneham, who also appeared on Survivor: Pearl Island and Survivor: Heroes and Villains shows, said he's the best candidate to replace Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels, who has reached his term limit and can't run next year, because he's "not beholden to any special interests."

1. As a long time fan of Survivor, I can say that Rupert was not a strategic player.

He could not survive the tribal vote and I doubt he will survive the Indiana vote. But he is a likable guy.

Rupert, the tribe has spoken.

3. As I remember, he stole the other team's shoes.

This ought to really endear him to the rethuglicans.

6. Don't laugh -- when I lived in Minnesota
I never thought people would vote for a crazy-ass fake wrestler who wore tights. Oh yeah, and he was essentially a "libertarian" too.

7. Considering that our other option is a Dominionist who makes Cotton Mather seem Liberal...
Rupert V. Mike Pence... I hate to say that I'd have to support Rupert.

Pence is a real hard-core Dominionist/Reconstructionist. I have no doubt he'd force his wife to die rather than abort if she had problems with a pregnancy.

Electing him Governor would set Indiana back 50 years, meaning it would now be 1900 here. Robber barons, no unions, and no rights for women...
