Gallup Daily Tracking: Obama overall approval took a 12% swing up since Gaddafi death
Edited on Mon Oct-24-11 02:58 AM by Tiggeroshii
His Approval the day Gaddafi was killed was 39 and disapproval was 54 according to the daily tracking. Now, his approval is 44, and his disapproval is 47. So if this is just a bump, it will be off not only the Gaddafi death but also the withdrawal of US troops in Iraq.

Is it just a bump, or is this going to be a new trend?

2. A new trend of course!
All he has to do is kill an evil foreign leader every month or two and he'll be just fine!

4. Goes to show the fickle nature of the public..
Twelve percent is a freakin' landslide in American elections, that it could swing that much on such a stupid idea says volumes about the public.

Gaddafi was a tyrant, he was also a pissant internationally, an existential threat to no one beyond his immediate neighbors if them.

Twelve percent of the public changed their opinion of Obama on some kid blowing a two bit dictator's head off? God help us..

I'm guilty of engaging in a lot of snark, it's how I cope often, I ain't snarking this time.

10. makes me wonder who these people are
the undecideds and the ones who need an assassination every 6 months. Might be poll bias -- just people saying what they think the pollsters want to hear.

7. his numbers will improve when he starts campaigning and when we have an (R) candidate

I doubt if this is a trend yet. I don't even like calling it a bump. More like a correction.

8. Americans love the killing of enemies both real and contrived.
Truly he was more enemy than friend regardless of shifts in policy but most likely, not much danger to the average American. But Americans relish the shedding of blood.

Get home from work, take dinner out of the box, put it in the oven, turn on TV, watch the latest gore-fest we've unleashed on a country 5 thousand miles away.
