Scarborough: GOP presidential candidates are all ‘idiots’
Scarborough: GOP presidential candidates are all ‘idiots’

.....................

Still in disbelief after the panel reenacted the Texas governor’s interview with Parade magazine, Mika Brzezinski was forthright in her assessment of the GOP field.

“I’m disturbed,” she told co-host Joe Scarborough. “You have a disturbing set of candidates in your party, I’m sorry. It’s disturbing. Either they are walking around with slogans or they’re crazy.”

Scarborough said he had “no defense” for those seeking the White House in his party.

“This is lunacy,” he said. “People will look back these candidates and just said, ‘What idiots. What total, absolute idiots.’ I’ll suspect we’ll do what Republicans do. All the idiots will be thrown overboard. We’ll end up nominating the really boring Gerald Ford, Bob Doyle, John McCain type and get Mitt Romney, and maybe lose. There’s got to be some sane conservatives out there.”

6. I forget which weekend show I was watching, Up w/ Chris Hayes or
Bill Maher... anyway, one of the guests on one of these shows speculated that Cain was only in the race to sell books, promote his "brand," which would be himself all to get a either a lucrative Faux News deal or get more clients for his motivational speaking engagements. This person felt he wasn't a serious candidate for President.

9. It is true but what also is true is the very deep passionate lunacy of those that will vote for them
It is unbelievable to me that those voters who cheer them on only look at who can yell the loudest about denying abortions, gay bashing and "no new taxes". It is so unnerving for so many of us on DU that these people will vote against their own needs just to appease the religious false value puppeteers. Makes one very ill and very sad:(

Sorry, Joe, they don't exist anymore. The new conservative wants a smaller government, but also want government to conduct a world wide crusade on Islam, create a 50' wall around the US to keep people out, and monitor the sex habits of 300MM US citizens. They are insane.

13. No defense, Joe? How about an explanation?
After all, I submit that it didn't "just happen" that the Republicans can't nominate a candidate for president who isn't an idiot, a total absolute idiot (to use your own characterization). Why do you suppose the Republicans are incapable of producing a candidate who is interested more in governance than in prostrate obeisance to the lunatic fringe and the out-of-control greedhead factions of the Republican Party? There's no shortage of Democrats willing to tell liberals to suck it, but the Republicans can't seem to bring themselves to reject their Nitwit Brigades.

Whyizzat, Joe?

22. If he didn't, I'd bet he didn't oppose the Tea Baggers
Despite the warnings (okay, maybe they weren't well-intentioned, but they were warnings) from us liberals that listening to the Tea Baggers wasn't a good idea, there were plenty of Republicans and their conservative mouthpieces who just laughed at our discomfiture. Well, you have a whole coop full of chickens coming home to roost now, Republicans. Enjoy their poop on your heads, because that's what you can look forward to for as long as you don't stand up to the greedy and the dimwits.

We told you this would happen.

16. Joe has been one of The Idiots' biggest enablers.
Edited on Mon Oct-24-11 11:58 AM by Atman
Despite his bullshit to the contrary, he has supported virtually every one of them at some time or another, until the bullshit was stacked too high. He has spent the last three years doing his best to cut Obama's legs out from underneath him. He loved Palin until it became inconvenient. He love Bachmanm until the idiocy she spewed because simply insane-sounding. He's loved Perry, Mittens...he's backed every GOP candidate, no matter how stupid they sound. Now he's surprised there is nothing but stupid-sounding GOP candidates. Joe, time to understand that you have an important place behind that desk. You speak to large (well, in MSNBC's case, somewhat large) numbers of people, and your words actually matter to some people, one way or another. You and your other corporate media colleagues have promoted the crazy for so long and -- SURPRISE -- crazy has gone mainstream. STFU and just tell us another story about how awesome things were when YOU were in Congress, and the Government shut down twice.

...that's what happens when you chuck all the "RINO's" for not being ideologically pure and the "base" (which really means the fanatics) deludes themselves listening to Rush and FOX that they are actually the majority despite the purges. When your party turns so hard right that your hero Ronald Reagan wouldn't even pass the muster today...something has gone terribly wrong.
