(AP) Washington -- In a surprise news conference held Monday at the White House,
President Barack Obama announced that the United States would be withdrawing all American citizens from Poverty by December 31, 2011."I can confirm that as of 9:15 AM Eastern Standard Time, the United States has begun the process of removing all American citizens from Poverty. While the logistics of such an operation are not trivial, today I can say that all Americans will definitely be out of Poverty by the holidays."
--snip--Administration officials, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said that talks to keep at least some Americans in Poverty had broken down over the last few months,
primarily over the issue of immunity for criminal banking institutions. Pressure from a series of continuing protests across America are credited with nixing the deal.
--snip--Republican response to the news has been negative. Congressman and Republican Presidential candidate
Ron Paul criticized the President, reiterating that the US Government should not be in the business of nation building. The Bachmann campaign released a similar statement and released photographs of insurgents they said were responsible for threatening the security of America by using
non-uniformed combatants, covert ops and child soldiers: More at the link!
Technically, I have to agree with Bachmann on one small point:
Pete Seeger is one of America's greatest non-uniformed combatants.PB
