Occupy Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, Police, to provide OWS Convoy Escort

.......................

....An Occupy Army facebook page was created, throwing a friendly jab at the OccupyMarines:

Time for us to open our eyes. Time for us to get in this fight, we can't let our Marine brothers get all the glory. Our Marine brothers have started this so let's back them up!

The Occupy Navy Facebook page says:

Occupy Navy is here to support the OccupyMarines effort....

Ironically that mirrors the Navy's traditional role of transporting the Marines. Occupy Air Force jumps onboard:

We are just getting going in our support of Occupy Marines... Please share this page, Occupy Navy, Occupy Army, and of course, Occupy Marines if you haven't. We aren't going to start our own press, we are just trying to help unify the Armed Forces for a push... and the Marines, have taken the lead. We will support them!

9. Reminds me of the Palace Guards in "The Rev. will not be televised" re: Venezuelan coup
who at critical point after coup leaders had taken over the Presidential Palace, turned on the coup leaders in support of 1 million plus peeps
surrounding the Palace and chanting "We Want President Hugo back NOW"... Once the Palace guard turned, the whole military followed suit fairly
soon there after. very moving stuff, history in the making.

well not totally, but nearly so.

I mean geesh .. it's not like Hugo hasn't done a thing or two for the poorest of the poor in his country,
against all the odds. I didn't notice Bush doing any such thing, just the exact opposite.

30. He's made a few gestures here and there but he hasn't done anything
substantial to lift the poor up and make them self sustaining. And the worst thing he's done is to not insure the orderly transfer of power. That pretty much assures that Venezuela's next leader will be a dictator. Hugo Chavez is like a little kid, and not a benevolent one. (IE: his admiration for Gadaffi.) Thank God he doesn't have access to more power.

50. Well then, we simply agree to disagree.
Have you seen "The Revolution will not be televised" documentary about the attempted US coup in Venezuela?

If you have, I stand by my header.

If you haven't, watch it, and let's talk again afterward.

34. Um, no. He is anti-Global Corporatist, just like the 99%
movement, except he and other South American leaders were fighting THIS battle before it finally got here. And that was the reason for the attempted coup. He was a threat to the very forces that have crashed the world. The Venezuelan people knew the story as S.A. has a long history of what we are only beginning to experience here, so they went out and fought to restore the president THEY chose, not the usual puppets chosen for them.

That was a wonderful moment in history and every Democrat on every forum at the time as it was happening, was rooting for the Venezuelan people and their democratically elected president. I don't understand why this sudden change on the 'left' other than the huge amounts of money they put into Anti-Chavez propaganda, revealed btw, by the Wikileaks cables

Now the problems THEY had have reached the first world. Hopefully we can do what South American countries, not just Venezuela, managed to do while the Globalists were busy in the ME.

One thing I hope this movement does is to educate Americans about South America and the battle they fought against the very same enemy OWS is now trying to fight here.

We and Europe are the next South America. Please read about their history, I think it will help you to understand that the anti-Chavez propaganda here is coming from the very people this movement is all about. They hate OWS and they hate Chavez for the same reasons. He exposed them and as he has said, he knows that one day they may kill him for that.

48. The left in this country never viewed Chavez as anything BUT
a friend, so your analogy doesn't apply. He is the democratically elected choice of his own people. I see a lot of talk lately from a minority on the 'left' about how they support 'the people' except when it comes to left-leaning South American leaders like Chavez.

I and every Democrat I know always rooted for Chavez and Lulu and all the others the Oligarchs tried to kill, remove, beat and defeat. Old habits die hard so they tried with Chavez but the people had had enough of Global Corporate murders of South American leaders.

So the people in that part of the world finally stood up and refused to allow another assassination or coup of a South American leader and they kicked out the traitors and restored their president.

You surely can't be cheering for OWS while denouncing South American leaders who actually did what we are trying to do here, get them, the World Bank, The IMF, Wall Street et al out of our government. They had their Arab Spring when the Global Corporatists got involved in the ME spreading 'democracy', killing their rulers and now they are moving on to Africa, same formula, same propaganda etc. But to denounce their revolt against Corporate influence on their Governments and claim to support OWS?? That makes no sense.

The RIGHT in this country always hated Chavez. This sudden anti-Chavez propaganda with a minority on the Left is interesting and appears to have started when the DLC/New Democrats/Third Wayers (iow rightwing of the Dem party) began to take control of the Party.

some people don't care for him. Plus he's a *gasp* socialist! Can't have that in neoliberal America. :sarcasm: The HORRORS. We might catch that nasty "socialism" bug.

Hey the guy ain't no saint, but, as you said, LA (and Chavez) has been fighting this battle a HELL of a lot longer than most Americans have.

42. Showtime is airing
Oliver Stone's documentary on the political awakening in South America, SOUTH OF THE BORDER. It can be accessed free via On Demand on our local Cox Cable station until Nov. 11th..I don't know if that is true of all cable or satellite carriers. I am sure it can be ordered via Netflix as well. It is especially interesting if you have read John Perkin's book, Confessions of an Economic Hitman. You will see how we have been lied to about Chavez...Do not believe our corporate media until you have checked the facts..

49. Yes, I want to see that. Stone has guts, he refuses to accept
the propaganda and does his own investigation. He spent a lot of time, more than he intended, with Chavez. He, John Pilger and other top investigative journalists have all exposed the propaganda we in the US get regarding Chavez. I noticed it filtering into the 'left' after the DLC/Third Way/New Democrats took over the Dem party. Before that, around 2004 seems to be when these DLC operatives began spreading the propaganda on democratic forums and it was hard to distinguish their 'talking points' which are always along the same lines, from what I was used to seeing on the far right.

'Shock Doctrine' and 'Confessions of an Economic Hitman' should be required reading for anyone who wants to know the truth about all of this. Chavez paid off Venezuela's debt to the World Bank releasing his country from their oppression. They haven't forgiven him for that. Interestingly Libya was also free of the strangle-hold of the IMF and the World Bank.

35. Our men and women in uniform stand with us
My cousins in the Navy hate what our country has become via our police state. They don't like the actions the TSA is taking anymore than the rest of us do. Our officers of the peace need to become just that - officers of the peace. They are not a military organization, and the day they become one, they are in uniform against the people of the United States.

If that offends someone by me saying it straight out, so be it. I come from a line of military men and women, and I have no issues declaring that I will stand up for the American people.
