Allegations mount against S.F. mayor
San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón on Monday opened his second investigation into campaign activity by supporters of Mayor Ed Lee as one of Lee's main rivals in the race alleged widespread voter fraud in Chinatown and other neighborhoods.

The mounting allegations came as some of Lee's competitors ramped up their calls for investigations into the alleged misconduct and for state and federal oversight of the voting.

Lee said he welcomed an investigation. He continued insisting that the dubious activity had no direct ties to his campaign and is being orchestrated by others beyond his control. Gascón's latest investigation involves questionable voting incidents by an independent expenditure committee supporting Lee.

1. Voting scandals? In SF? Noooooooooo!
In a town where ballot boxes end up in the bay?
In a town where poll workers wear 49ers jackets for a vote on a new stadium?
In a town where dead people approved said new stadium?

Say it ain't so!

8. A tale of two stadiums.
I've only lived here since 2996, so what I know is based on what I read. My understanding is that the 49ers organization blackmailed the City into holding an election approving funds for a new stadium close to where Candlestick is now. The 49era backed out a few years ago and decided to move to Santa Clara.

By the way, Randy you must have a hell of a time machine to have been here in 2996... I hope Star Fleet built their headquarters in the Presidio!!!

9. Rose Pak is the one out front.
Rose Pak is a "consultant" for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce here in San Francisco. Whereas Willie Brown can steal and make you thank him for it, Pak is a bull in a (pardon the pun) china shop. This flagrant and clumsy move has her signature all over it.
