THE BIG DRAW BRIDGE ON THE DUNEDIN CAUSEWAY.

The Dunedin Causeway bridge has been on the Federal DOT replace the bridge list for over ten years. It has been postponed and then cancelled due to the failing economy. The draw span sticks part of the way up often. When it sticks partly open cars can not go across it and tall boats can not pass under it. A stuck bridge during a hurricane evacuation will be a major disaster trapping residents on Honeymoon Island and denying tall sailboats and sport fishing boats a safe passage to a safe harbor up river in Tarpon Springs. This could result in loss of life to residents and boat crews. The expensive vessels could also be lost.
