as the "Clinton's tax hikes will bankrupt the country" started to really kick in, there was plenty of jobs from the economy which started booming ... so well, that people forgot what it was like, and voted in all Republicans in 2000 (well, with some help from the SCOTUS).

After that ... economy tanked ... even with "Tax cuts, so help me God!" (tax cuts in prosperity, tax cuts in recession, tax cuts in Depression) George W. Bush making every decision, and the Republicans giving him exactly what he demanded. I still hear the cries of "Every time Gore says 'count the votes!', the stock market crashes ... every time W wins, the stock market SOARS!!!" ... which suddenly disappeared after 12/12/2000, and the stock market started a steady decline ...

18. 6? There were like 50 applicants for the minimum wage student worker positions I hired for earlier

this summer at the library where I work, and 150 for the full time parapro position. The other parapro position got up to 60 applicants after being open only 3 days.

Very seldom does a job we post get less than 50 applicants. And some of these jobs are just menial tasks like labeling books.

Or maybe he's a dislocated worker and had his education paid by WIA or some other GOVERNMENT program that he didn't have to pay back.

In my observation, the people who bang their chests the most over being anti-government are the ones who have benefited from government programs the most. For example, I have a neighbor who farms and is in all of the federal commodity and conservation programs he can qualify for. Plus, his off-farm job is with the U.S. Postal Service. And every time I see him, he goes on his anti-government rants and repeats what he's heard recently on some RW radio program. I'm surrounded by people like this.
