OPD has a history of 'pants on fire' behavior...
Edited on Wed Oct-26-11 12:29 PM by libertypirate
Can someone please post some evidence, specifically video of a protester attacking a cop.

BTW, food for thought.. How does the actions of one or two people justify the assault on hundreds of people?

OPD admitted they had been planning to deal with the protesters for a week.

The police have expressively blamed protestors for the escalation into violence. And the reasons or excuses for the use of violence will likely keep coming. People only back build justifications when it wasn't there to begin with. When you have justification it doesn't change after the fact.

There is a frightening coincidence I hope isn't true. There have been reports that the police instructed media at the moment of escalation to cease recording and leave the area.

Just an observation OPD when your riot cops tell the media something was thrown from the crowd they should get their stories straight. It was a rock, then a bottle, then both, I even heard a cop tell a reporter that it was a beer. You know what didn't happen, not a single reporter or video capture that backs up OPD's story.

One of the more well-known cases is Oscar Grant. Cop that shot him got 2 years (with time served 7 mos)-

"The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Police shooting of Oscar Grant refers to the fatal shooting of unarmed civilian Oscar Grant by BART Officer Johannes Mehserle in Oakland, California, United States, in the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2009."

Riders get off again -- no surprise
May 23, 2005|By Chip Johnson

Many residents of West Oakland were hardly surprised that three former police officers who called themselves the Riders were let off the hook last week -- for the second time in two years -- on charges of terrorizing the community.
