They are trying to say that the explosions weren't flash grenades but M-80s. I don't think so. We had those all the time along with cherry bombs because SC sold every firework known to man. M80s are wicked, but there is a biiiiiiig difference.

If he's in service, aren't there rules against participating in political activities in Uniform?

If he's not (presumably a Veteran) is it considered acceptable to wear your Uniform publicly outside of Parades and related activities?
