The revolution will be livestreamed–at least in Oakland
The violence that erupted during the Occupy Oakland protest on Tuesday night, like most events in the social media age, was captured on digital video cameras by protesters and news reporters. Footage of the confrontation between police officers and protestors has been uploaded and distributed online--via Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and blogs--in near-real-time. Like several other <...>

1. I doubt that it will have the impact with the vast majority that
the live images of Dan Rather getting beat up at the Chicago convention in '68 with Walter Cronkite expressing disgust at the “strong-arm tactics of Mayor Daleys police".

All live on the evening convention coverage.

2. I agree. I may not know how to use livestream but I do not like it. I do
not have the patience to wait for it to get loaded all the time and I doubt that most people will. So most people will do what I do - not watch it.

3. This article is an example of why I hate the corporate media
While the article starts out fine, the last half of the article is nothing but right-wing lies. It quotes without challenge a right-wing blogger who claims that the police did not use flash bang grenades, but rather the banging noises were from protesters throwing fire crackers at police. This is a lie. There is video of the police using the flash bang grenades, to the best of my knowledge there is zero evidence of protesters throwing fire crackers aside from unsubstantiated police claims. When the media quotes a liar without exposing the lie it proves they have no credibility.
