Imagine for a moment that a Teabagger rally had been broken up like OWS Oakland..
Does anyone think there would be no official statements about it by now?

Can anyone even imagine the decibel level of the screeching coming from the entire Republican party and its vast communication apparatus?

Where are the Democrats?

6. That or the fact that they weren't camping
What happened in OAK should be an eye opener to all, but from what I have seen, the Tea Party folks weren't camping out in public places, ignoring requests to leave.

7. What difference does that make to the reaction?
It's the reaction I'm talking about, the Republicans would have backed their base no matter what and we all know it.

13. Absolutely not.
Showed the OAK coverage to my wife when she got home and she was just as appalled. However, I don't think there is a direct parallel between a day time protest and a camp site.

I drive by Occupy Dallas 2-3 times a week. Lot's of tents, not too many police. So far it looks like that city is not over-reacting, but to what end.

I am trying to figure out what the end goal is? What does City Hall have to do with banks and our current admin allowing them to operate the way they do?

The City of Dallas can't balance a budget, but yet they spend dollar on top of dollar in grants, while still laying people off. Hell, they probably layed off the staff that cuts the grass where all the tents are.

9. First, they were never requested to leave. They were welcomed.
Second, they didn't have to "camp." They showed up and the national media was all over them like flies on shit on a hot summer day.

That's the difference between a KochBros-financed astro-turf operation and a spontaneous grass-roots movement...

10. I wonder if there would have been gun play
given all the side arms they've toted to Teabag rallies. Although I tend to think that when confronted with the possibility of gunfire, you would have found very few Republicans willing to shoot it out with the authorities, unlike the guys at Lexington and Concord they keep referring to.
