Battleground state update: Poll shows Obama beats every GOP candidate in Ohio

Herman Cain Leads Mitt Romney In Ohio But GOP Field Trails Obama

by Frank James

<snip>Not only does the poll add to the evidence that Romney could have real difficulty positively energizing Republican voters, it gives Obama's supporters some reasons for optimism.

The survey shows Obama with leads over Cain, Romney and Perry, though his four percentage point lead over Romney is the smallest over those three GOP candidates. The poll's margin of error is plus/minus 2.4 percentage points.

Ohio is a key electoral battleground and with a 9.1 percent September unemployment rate, the same as the nation's, it would be no surprise to see Obama trailing some of the GOP candidates at this stage. But he isn't, at least not in the Quinnipiac poll.

If there was good news for Obama, there was none for Perry. He was at four percent in the survey, an implosion that mirrored what's happened nationally for him.

1. Wow, I had pretty much given up on Ohio. If O wins OH, I think its over.
There few plausible scenarios for a Repub to win without Ohio.

4. I hope so, but we are worth less now than in '08 because of the census.
It would be very good to hang onto PA and FL too, to say nothing of some of the new blue states down South or out West.

6. Don't Worry, John K-Suck Is Working Every Day To Turn Ohioans Against Republicans
He's been almost as good for the Democratic Party here in Ohio as Bob Taft was, and should post similar approval ratings. Kasich took a State that was going to be nip-and-tuck for WHOEVER would eventually win it, and he alienated a huge portion of the population, many of whom WERE very loyal Republican voters.

And just think............we haven't even BEGUN to dig up any dirt on whoever the Republican nominee will be.

7. "4 point percentage lead" is small enough to steal. Just ask Ken Blackwell.

I wouldn't put it past Kasich at all. That's why Team Obama is looking for more than one route to winning the requisite electoral votes.
