After 3:10 and 3:17 there are two flashes. You can see Scott hut the ground. Watch for the woman in the light orange shirt - I think she was next to Scott Olsen before he was hit. She was the first of the crowd to realize he was injured, from what I see on this video. I see her earlier along at 2:10 but I don't see Scott Olsen in that shot. After that, once the crowd clears, you can see Scott Olsen on the ground with one person standing over him.

By 3:22, the crowd that had retreated realized there is an injured person and some of them run back to surround him. As they congregate at 3:28 and 3:30 you can see in the air at least two objects thrown from the line of police to the right. The first one seems to the gas or flash grenade thrown into the group Those police should have been able to see that there was an injured person and that the group was getting together to help him, but there were still some kind of weapons thrown into that crowd.
