6. Lovely, and it looks like it was a beautiful day too. But I have to say it.

I loathe strapless wedding gowns and am pining for the day designers start putting f-ing sleeves back on wedding dresses.

Sorry, occupational hazard. I've officiated over 300 weddings and probably 275 brides were wearing strapless gowns on whom maybe 25 looked appropriate. This is a fashion trend that has out-stayed its welcome.

Strapless/sleeveless wedding gowns are not all that figure-flattering, and jeez-louise, those pictures are with you forever:(

There are so many wedding dresses these days to choose from, and I cannot understand why so many brides spend so much for a dress that does not flatter them..:(

The few brides I've had with sleeves, I've complimented only to learn they had the sleeves attached at alteration and their dresses were originally strapless. *sigh*

they can't find a decent selection to choose from with sleeves. I'm really hoping Kate's dress does the trick.

I totally agree re: the strapless trend. Overdone, and rarely appropriate for the bride or the season. Should I ever choose marriage, I'm sure I will be able to narrow the dress search process considerably to dresses that actually (gasp!) have sleeves/straps. Which will probably be 1 in every 10 I look at.

17. Congratulations to Cate and her husband!!!

I'm glad that she and her siblings had a happy event in their lives. It must have been a bitter-sweet day for her. Every girl hopes that her mom will help her plan the wedding and that her dad gives her way. Elizabeth wasn't given the opportunity to see her oldest daughter get married. She would have loved to have been there and to have seen the children that they will have some day.

Sometimes life can be so cruel. If there's anything that John Edwards is truly guilty of is depriving his wife of peace in the last couple of years of her life thanks to his selfish behavior. Elizabeth deserved better.

My congratulations to the newly weds. May they have a long marriage and many happy years together.
