11. So, you are disputing that Olsen was shot in the head by OPD?
Maybe you think there was some dude on a grassy knoll nearby? Or that Olsen did it to himself?

8. The Mayor and the CIty Council are the responsible ones --
they give the cops their marching orders and they wouldn't have HAD their rubber bullets, flash bang things, tear gas, unless they had been instructed to.

16. But a lot of cops were from outside of Oakland.
Does the Mayor and Oakland's Chief have direct authority over them?
You KNOW this will be blamed on outside cops who were there.

40. Yeah, the outside cops will be a wrench in the works, but it
ultimately (I think) would be up to Oakland's Mayor whether she said "send in reinforcements" or "send in reinforcements with riot gear and crowd controlling devices).

If she didn't want a volatile police presence, the others wouldn't have arrived ready to kick ass. Again, just my opinion on it.

the police from Emeryville, San Leandro, Hayward, Union City and Fremond. She needs to be held accountable for the whole thing. Her plan was carried out by Police Chief Jordan.

I haven't been able to find a photograph of her but I read an article saying she prefers to be behind the scenes and not in front of the public. Gee! I wonder why.

27. Here are photos of her here

I agree - if she planned the actions for that evening by pulling in more officers from other cities/towns, then Deanna Santana is the name we should be discussing front and center. I assume that the police chief and mayor were in the planning sessions with her.

13. It's not clear who was giving the orders. There were, from
what I've read, 15 units from outside Oakland brought in to fight the people.

I think we need to know who made that decision first. In fact in some of the video before the attack, some of the protesters mentioned that 'who are you' to the outside forces.

I agree people need to resign. But I would not want it be just the 'underlings' which may be the position the Oakland Police Chief holds and the Mayor. Some higher authority appears to have the opinion that the American people are the enemy and need to be controlled by a huge police force that is not their local police.

Why the riot gear eg? There definitely needs to be an investigation because firing these two won't get to the root of these policies.

Eg, are the FBI involved? Some protesters, in Baltimore eg, saw four FBI agents/employees trying to infiltrate the protesters they say. And the NYPD now works with the CIA, the FBI and Homeland Security.

The similarity of the tactics of the police means someone above them may be involved.

This is an opportunity to start asking those questions and not be satisfied with the firing of a few people if the problem is way bigger than that.

29. HE DID...
AKLAND -- The city with the state's highest violent crime rate is again in search of a top cop after Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts announced his resignation Tuesday, saying a burdensome "bureaucracy" left him without enough power to fight crime and build community trust in his department.

Batts, a charismatic leader who sought to bring Oakland into step with a trend toward data-driven policing, was hired in October 2009 by then-Mayor Ron Dellums, seven months after four city police officers were gunned down. He said he took the job because of the tragedy and he quickly won over many residents.

38. When we imprison our soldiers.....
...for exposing corruption and heinous violations of our own and international laws without a trial, -- then it's only a small step to shooting our own soldiers in the head. When we'll assassinate a US citizen and his 16 year-old son without any due process -- then it's only another small step to shooting our own soldiers in the head.

- Clearly the police chief is taking his clues from on-high........
