Why is Cain running?
He's just wasting everybody's time with this thing… He's not serious at all.

Just another Republican meglomanic stroking his own ego at everyone else's expense.

1. I would say that he is doing it because he is a Koch plant. Not sure why
they are doing this, but I suspect that they are.

6. He's selling a book...
Yup, his entire campaign is around selling his book - and he is actually leading the Republican race. It's really quite hilarious. The Republican field is basically a joke. One will eventually emerge (not Cain) and it will be a tough campaign, but as of now it's like a comedy act.

17. Add that his campaign is buying the books.
He takes campaign donations and uses the cash to buy hardbound copies of his own book at retail, he then sits at a table autographing them and handing them out at campaign stops. He doesn't spend money on advertising. Instead he does interviews and cuts viral videos and lets the media give him free exposure. This is why the debates are his friend.

People can quit calling him stupid. Opportunistic charlatan maybe, but not stupid.

When book sales falter, he'll bow out. Campaigning is easy, being pres is not.

And he pulls enough support to keep this primary charade going on and on.

11. Because Romney and Perry are too white ....
They are covering the bases. Same reason they have a woman running. Ugh...very old school.

GOP now has billboards advertising that Martin Luther King was a Republican.

Why do you think they did that?

15. Reminds me of that guy the other day...
I forget his name. He spoke at something and said "The Republican party is the party of Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slaves! The KKK were Democrats!" Yeah, sure. If you forget that the parties have flip-flopped since then. Jesus.

14. I always considered motivational
speakers cons, so in my mind he's a con-man, a swindler, selling his books, tapes and speaking engagements to rip off more suckers.

19. Uncle Ruckus has a right to free speech too in America
I couldn't agree with you more.

And you're right, Grifterella's bank account is a booming'… Too bad for her supporters that she's nothing but subsidized hot air.

20. So, he can spread his message of racism. Plain and simple. Black Democrats are brainwashed!!
People who are poor are to blame for it.

9-9-9.

He wants to electrocute illegal residents sneaking in to America from Mexico.

President Obama is not a real black man.

But his most important message -- Republicans aren't racists, just lookit me!
It was the same meme Richard Steele used.
And JC Watts.

21. Maybe deep inside he's laughing his head off at just how stupid Republicans are
Maybe he's thinking that he can say stupid things like "Becky Becky Becky Stan" and that as far as abortion is concerned he's pro life and that it's up to a woman and her family to decide and that conservatives will make him the frontrunner as long as he promotes low taxes and no healthcare for the poor. Maybe he's serious in what he says but he's coming off like the kind of candidate the Onion Network would create. If I were Herman Cain I'd be laughing my head off as I tried to go as extreme as possible in turning myself into the caricature of the batshit crazy Republican.
