I have never seen any pic of Obama smoking
I have heard he smoked, or used to smoke, but I have never seen any pics of him doing that. Odd, did he always do his smoking in secret or something? It seems strange to me I have never seen a pic of him smoking. Has anyone seen one?

1. There's an old pic of him smoking. Not sure why this is important.

7. An old pic?
Ok, it just seems a bit odd that if Obama recently quit smoking, that there weren't any pics of him smoking say, when he was running for president, or as the president.

Just curious is all, not a big deal.

11. Maybe he didn't do it in front of cameras. Or in front of his kids.

4. there are some photos
of when he was a teen/young adult ( i don't know his age)

there are some others, but I think they are 'shopped.

I'm sure he smokes in private when there are no cameras...
but I think he's also trying to quit, so he's probably not doing it much to begin with? (my guess)

5. What does it matter?
He's a smoker. I'm a smoker. You won't find any photos of me smoking, either. In reality, you know you've seen at least one photo of Obama smoking. It's been posted just about everywhere. Are you waiting for someone to post it? I hope you don't get your wish, if that's the case.

14. What an odd thing to hope for. Next you'll be wondering if anyone has pics
of him wearing a turban and African garb, right?

17. lol
I actually have seen a pic like that, its an obvious fake.

No, I don't need to see fake pics of Obama dressed like an African, lol.

Sorry if my curiousity about Obama smoking offended you. It really isn't that big a deal. He is human and has his weaknesses and struggles just like everyone else.

6. Yes - during the campaign period, I think.
Don't recall any since - I don't know if he quit. I'm sure his handlers' keep a lid on it, assuming he's still smoking, since the habit is - nowadays - equivalent to mainlining heroin . . .

16. Why is that so surprising? Do you have family members that
smoke? If so, where are their pictures when they had a ciggy in hand? Bet you don't find any.

20. No I don't
Everyone in my family hates smoking with a passion and would never smoke. So I can't answer whether other smokers may or may not get their pics taken with a cig.

27. The second one looks 'shopped to me.
I'm a smoker, and the way he's holding it in his mouth just doesn't look natural to me. Maybe it was just for the moment he's buttoning/unbuttoning his jacket, but still, nobody holds a cigarette clenched in their teeth like that.

Also, if it's real, they're indoors in an office! That's been pretty verboten in Chicago for nearly 20 years now.

9. This rush to defend Block and/or Obama for smoking/not smoking is...goofy.
The issue is featuring it in a campaign video.

IIRC Laura Bush smokes. Can't recall any pictures from the White House of her doing it there.

21. 2-3 nights ago he said to Jay Leno: I am no longer smoking. I quit.
He was completely spontaneous, credible, and seemed pleased with himself.
It has become a non- issue.

24. It wasn't much of an issue to begin with
I mean, I'm not a smoker and wouldn't be one, but whether Obama smoked or not doesn't affect his job performance.

If he said he quit, good for him. If he keeps smoking, well, its his choice in the first place and he has every right to smoke.

26. some people don't have to smoke every minute. Some people
it is only after a meal or in a social setting. That was the way my dad smoked. He also went outside and did not let us kids see him smoking. My mother only smoked in the evening or after a meal. It would be easy to avoid pictures if he was that kind of smoker.

28. I've seen pictures and never cared about it...we all have vices
even presidents. Maybe it is because I'm a smoker myself that I don't really care about that.

I'm not trying to be snotty with your OP, really I'm not, but it seems to be a matter of contention with lots of posters here. The first picture I saw of him with a cigarette surprised me, but then I remembered that the guy is human after all.

I see someone posted pics upthread already..I looked for them before.

29. He says he finally managed to quit
and I give him props for that, I understand it's pure hell.

It's also a kind of hell to have your time and your money claimed by the kind of scum that runs Big Tobacco while using a product that's slowly killing you.
