Silence Noisy Neighbors by Transmitting Your Music to Their Speakers

If you have a neighbor that's playing their music too loudly, you can get them back by hijacking their speakers with a little DIY project.

Some people are more than a little inconsiderate, and when a friendly note or call to your landlord doesn't solve the problem, sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands. Evil genius and electrical guru junkyardmessiah over at Reddit came up with this DIY solution:

Essentially, with a few tools, you can transmit your voice, play an annoying tone, or even blast your own music through their speakers—even if their speakers are turned off. If you're truly evil, you could probably blow out their speakers too, but that could have repercussions. Different states have different legal issues pertaining to these types of devices, too, so check with your area's laws—if such things concern you—before you start plotting. There's this organization called the FCC that might have a thing or two to say about your transmission, too, so this is definitely a proceed-at-your-own-risk situation.

1. Yes, I would love to do it, but it seems a little expensive.

I have Hispanoc neighbors who play their loud, booming music, which drowns out my TV. I have already knocked on their door and asked them to turn it down, but that only lasted a couple of days.

Over the years I have had problems with people using booster equipment on their CBs that played their voices through my speakers. Both were creepy men who enjoyed that they were bothering me - mostly pornographic stuff. I did not play loud music - they just wanted to hassle a single woman. I did not even have to have my stereo on. It took forever to get the FCC to do anything and it still did not help.
Would hate to see your information to get around. It was nearly impossible to get help.

I first saw in high school, which was a long long time ago.

Today most people do not understand the concept of radio, radio waves, interference, inductance etc. Everything is digital and cell phones are magic and always work. Anyone with an RF background would recognize it instantly, but those are few and far between these days. I can also see how it could be abused.
