2. I love Clint for this.
That sanctity crap they go on and on with also annoys the fuck out of me, the sanctimonious arrogance of it, so I dig his choice of words very much.

3. Excellent!!! I've found in life that men secure in their masculinity could give
a damn about gay people or gay marriage. IMO it's typically the closet cases that make a big deal of it all to deflect attention from themselves.

10. I feel fairly secure in my masculinity...
and I DO give a damn. Leave these people be. There ain't any other species that condemns the sexual behavior of other members of their species and why would I? And other than that puritans in general should sit in a circle jerk and cast out demons...it would keep them occupied and harmless, for a change.

5. How right is Mr. Eastwood? In other words, mind your own fucking business, and
leave others alone. What is so difficult about that?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/13/us-clinteastwood-idUSTRE78C7XZ20110913

In the October issue of GQ Magazine, the steely gazed slab of machismo says he doesn't think gay marriage should be such a controversial issue.

"These people who are making a big deal about gay marriage?" Eastwood tells the magazine. "I don't give a fuck about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We're making a big deal out of things we shouldn't be making a deal out of ... Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want."

16. Maybe we should back him for the Republican Presidential nomination
Way more experience than Herman Cain, plus he is a rich old white guy who people like. Hell, if Reagan could do it then maybe Eastwood could do it and maybe even be good at it.

^snip^

As a politician Eastwood has made successful forays into both local and state government. In April 1986 he was elected mayor for one term in his home town of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California – a small, wealthy town and artist community on the Monterey Peninsula.<263> During his term he tended towards supporting small business interests and advocating environmental protection.<264> In 2001 Eastwood was appointed to the California State Park and Recreation Commission by Governor Davis,<265> then reappointed in 2004 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.<265>

17. I am really looking forward to his upcoming biopic about J. Edgar Hoover
With Leonardo DiCaprio playing Hoover, Dustin Lance Black writing the screenplay and Clint Eastwood directing this has the potential to be a great film, while no one has seen it yet I think it is already safe to make bets that it will walk away with some big awards come Oscar night given the subject and talent involved. Eastwood may have some Republican leanings, but he does reject the religious right extremists and will take our side when he sees the right violating people's basic rights. He is one of the few Republicans left who is not completely insane.
