Thank you, Cardinals, for shutting down Shrub's team.

and I didn't even care who won. I'm not a fan of either team. But I was still swept into the high drama... what a game #6 was.

but multiply that look by the tens of thousands of mouthbreathers in the midwest who will now cast that same look at your fellow DUer.

(Sorry DU Cardinals fans, but I murder-hate your team.)

43. Are you knocking Ernie Broglio?
He had an ERA under 5 for the Cubs once!

You also gave us Curt Simmons. What is it about you guys, always giving us pitchers at the death knell of their careers? What is is about us always falling for it?

27. That's OK, this DU Cardinals fan understands,
Personally, I've gone from murder-hating your team in my youth to now, well, sort of not noticing/feeling pity for your team. I mean really now, the Cubbies have been pretty much an exercise in futility all of my years, starting back in the days of Gibson and Brock.

They can't win until Shrub is indicted and prosecuted.

That's a legend I can live with.

13. That's the only reason I'm glad TX lost -- although Bush
doesn't own it, he's still a supporter and I'd hate to see him happy. :)

Other than that - nothing against the Cardinals (they had me on the edge of my seat last night - great team!) but they've won several and it would have been so exciting for those players in TX to be the first Ranger team to get the ring.

Rangers were ahead and it didn't look good at all. From what I read and heard, I missed a nail biter finish. Damn!

38. Maybe you can watch a replay of it somewhere.
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 12:52 AM by begin_within
It's not the same, I know, when you already know the outcome. But the whole game was just one amazing thing after another happening - crazy errors, wild pitches, tense situations (the Rangers came within one strike of winning the World Series... twice in that game)... explosive hits and runs turning the tables suddenly.... you could not have scripted a more dramatic game. Frankly I didn't care who won, and I'm not really a fan of either team. But I was still drawn into the high drama of it all. I hope you can watch it somehow.

28. Tony LaRussa
Tony LaRussa (the Cards manager) is a rabid right-winger who attends Glenn Beck rallies, and is probably more to the right than GWB himself.

Also last election Missouri went just as red as Texas.

(sorry I'm a little bummed as a 30+ year Ranger fan)
