Rachel Maddow kind of pissed me off last night
She had a woman on from Mississippi that is trying to stop a radical proposal that would make all abortions in Mississippi illegal, and that would also effectively ban several forms of birth control.

That lady from Mississippi, in her final seconds on the show, plugged the website, and asked for people to donate to her organization to help educate the people so that measure might be defeated.

http://www.votenoon26.org/

A few segments later, Rachel came back on and seemed to chastise the lady from Mississippi, saying that her program doesn't take sides in political battles, yada, yada, yada.

What a crock.

And her staff has gone the extra step of posting the anti-freedom site on top of the pro-liberty one.

http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/

I've been posting my disappointment with Rachel for a few weeks now. For her mostly ignoring of the OWS movement, among other things.

Maddow's blog actually lists the "ban birth control" website ahead of the good one.

Maddow's show used to be great. But I guess her new multi-million dollar contract changed her mind.

3. Maddow was absolutely right and the activist was wrong.
Many times I've seen Maddow point out that Hannity, O'Reilly and many Fox shows allow right wingers to come on and advertise for the purpose fo fund raising- completely void of journalistic ethics. The activist put MSNBC in a bad spot. Maddow did the right thing.

You must be watching a different Maddow show. I have seen a lot of OWS coverage.

4. I quit watching her and KO for the most part
because they seem to pander to the right too much for my taste so I don't watch much tv anymore and when I do its Colbert and Stewart as they do a much better job of getting the message out but one has to be smarter than a pinhead to get it what they're saying. Oh they, Rachel and KO both have good segments but from my perspective it shouldn't be SOME it should be ALL of their show as good segments. One has to remember who Rachel works for to get it too. KO on the other hand I simply haven't figured him out yet as he IS one of the 1 percenters now.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it :hi:

12. I'm not saying he doesn't
I made it pretty clear what I meant and where I'm coming from and its not just from this last month, I'm talking about as a whole. Anyways I don't get current tv anymore as dish has removed it from our choice of channels but before they did I had already pretty much quit watching KO for said reasons.

?

Personally I can put two and two together and it always comes out as a four, always has and always will. I'm an old vietnam vet who has been paying attention to whats going on around me my whole life so its not like I need someone to tell me what I already know.

Peace and have a good day, I plan too.

28. Can you give an example of KO...
pandering to the right too much?

I don't see it (from my perspective) so I am just curious what specifically makes you think KO "panders to the right too much."

5. Her program doesn't take sides in political battles like FauxSnooze doesn't.
I mean, come on. Some truths are self-evident.

That said, no sense getting annoyed. Caveat emptor, and all that. It is what it is.

It's always a good idea to watch any program, even a cheerleading one, with a jaundiced eye.

6. I liked Rachel's show last night...
Rachel often has opposing views or people on her show. What's neat is that they often reveal themselves as stupid or liars. The abortion law in Mississippi is ridiculous, and putting the websites up let's people see the difference! I can see that Rachel's style doesn't appeal to everyone, but she often goes after topics in unique ways, so I'll keep watching the show.

8. I would add, if you go to the "YES" site...
There is a doctor who states that the bill will not ban contraception, but she states that a fertilized egg is a "person", including as a result of rape. The site states that the "day after pill" is illegal.

I'd love to have Rachel interview that doctor to explain what she avoids: exactly why is a "day after pill" different from hormonal birth control in the sense that a fertilized egg does not attach and grow!!!

In fact, the "YES" site skirts the issues in a few very important ways. Now that I've seen it, I'd be better able to argue with someone as to why I'd vote no on any similar law in Florida.

13. Rachel said one thing I don't like!
She must be a horrible person, a sell out to corporate interests, a stealth agent for the Koch brothers, and she probably gives out granola bars for Halloween.

17. She's devoted some time, but whereas Keith will start with OWS for at least a half hour,
Rachel usually (not always) starts with the friggin' horse race. That's when I turn her off. I kept her on last night, because she DIDN'T start with the friggin' horse race.

19. People don't seem to understand there's a whole bunch of writers and producers that tell her what to
do and say.

I'm amazed at how they get the hosts to throw just enough breadcrumbs to keep such a loyal audience of "librulz".
At the end of the day, it's still controlled by the Wingers and it's still largely RW propaganda in my opinion.

23. Rachel Maddow kind of pissed me off last nite
GROW UP WILL YOU?!!! Maddow's got the best damn show on the tube, it's not EVEN CLOSE. She does like to cover both sides of the story, but if you seriously doubt who's "side" she's on you've got a real problem. The fact that she does stuff like this is what makes her so damn credible. Geezeus Fried Christ, the level of ME ME ME ME has never been greater around here.

31. Don't watch her then
I think Rachel Maddow's show has improved. And why would she allow one guest to ask for donations and not others? She was already giving the woman plenty of air time which she didn't have to do if you're assessment of her is correct.

Just don't watch her if your disenchanted.
