"Michael Moore: Occupy movement 'killed apathy'" - Down With Meme Of Inaction!
The corporate media loves to push the meme that the left, unions and Democrats will do nothing in 2012 in an effort to diminish turnout. While the corporate media celebrates Tea Party anger and protests as a reason why the right wing is going dominate the 2012 elections, the same media pushes the meme that liberal anger will lead to inaction and apathy in 2012.

That's right, the meme is that when the right wing gets angry, they win elections. When the left gets angry, they boycott them.

The great thing about the 99 percent movement and the OWS protests is that it forces the media to show that the left and unions are not going to be apathetic. They are going make their voices heard and will not be ignored by elected officials regardless of political party.

Filmmaker Michael Moore told anti-Wall Street protesters in Oakland that the Occupy movement - which has spread to cities across America and overseas - in inspiring millions who are angry about corporate excess, income inequality and the failure of politicians to address issues facing the majority of Americans.

"We've killed despair across the country and we've killed apathy," he said.

The director of the documentary films "Fahrenheit 9/11" and "Bowling for Columbine" said people throughout the U.S. were "disgusted" and "horrified" when police fired tear gas and bean bags and took other aggressive actions against protesters Tuesday night.

Iraq war veteran Scott Olsen, 24, remains hospitalized in fair condition with a fractured skull suffered from a projectile fired during a sweep of Frank Ogawa Plaza by police in riot gear. His condition has become a rallying cry at Occupy protests around the world.

1. Democrats are better than republicans. Even though
I am somewhat disappointed by the relative futility of Democratic legislators over the past 3 years, I am still going to vote, and vote Democratic.

The Bush years should have taught every reasonable person that republicans are outright insane and deadly to the entire planet. I never want to go there again.

OWS is growing. Democrats in office make much better conditions for growth than republicans. They do some good things. Republicans are way less than zero.

We will be more comfortable with Democrats in office as OWS continues to grow.

IMHO.

4. We still need to primary DLC Democrats. I hope that the OWS movement will allow us to successfully

do this all over the nation. Also, give your money to non-DLC Democrats and withhold it from DLC types. Force the DLCers to choose *either* Main Street or Wall Street, but don't allow them funds from both.

5. Democrat AND REPUBLICANS! We can't just hold Democrats accountable. We can't give Republicans ...
...a free pass. If OWS is going to be non-partisan, it cannot just focus only on DLC Democrats. If anything, Republicans are far more extreme in denying global warming, loudly insisting on tax cuts to the rich, while trying to turn Medicare into voucher care. Even the right most DLC Democrats are only raising raising the eligibility age of Medicare, not junking it in its entirety. Thus, it would be incredibly partisan and play into the corporate media narratives if OWS just focuses on Democrats while give the far more extreme Republicans a free pass.
