Heartbreaking and Must be Illegal. City of Fresno tearing down tents and cardboard shacks. Helpless
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/10/27/18695595.php

I continue to beg for help. Emails and calls to local officials, STate officials, Congress members. Emails with pictures to Ed Shultz, Keith Olbermann, Amy Goodman, MIchael Moore.
Please send this to them also. to anyone who can help

You probably know about the cold-hearted destruction of the homeless encampment on Santa Fe Ave. Thursday. Former residents are now in need of many things; you can help. Rose Arrellano, our courageous WILPF intern is our contact person, helping to get much-needed items to former residents of the Santa Fe collective.
Items needed:
sleeping bags
tents
dog food
warm clothing
blankets
Any other camp items

We will be happy to pick up items, or you can drop them off. Call 439-0280 or 307-6248. Thanks!

The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution which has to start with each one of us.

At about 3 p.m. this afternoon there was a standoff on the Caltrans section of the homeless encampment on Santa Fe street in downtown Fresno. Homeless advocates stood in front of a tent, preventing Caltrans workers from taking and destroying it.

In this load the bulldozer operator has a tent and chair which he is dumping into the back of a truck. How they determined that this was garbage is not known.

1. See what it is like with Conservative Christian Government
Fresno is the perfect example. It made the corporate and larger farmers, land owners, and developers wealthy but destroyed a city.

3. _And_ is destroying the agricultural land it was based on as it expands and expands.
They used to boast that the richest ag land was in the Central Valley, "breadbasket to the country." That's just what I do with my breadbasket at home -- put asphalt in it. Really tragic.

5. All the homeless must do is use their invisibility cloaks

Every poor and homeless person has a magical invisibility cloak!

Rich people shouldn't have to see people living in cardboard boxes; it upsets their beautiful minds!

Become invisible, homeless of Fresno, and stop ruining the view for the 1%!!!!

:sarcasm:

K&R and a big pox on all in Fresno who kick people in the teeth when they're already down.

7. protesting at abortion clinics?

or listening to speeches about the evil of teh gay?

Dunno, but this is America, and the Christians are a diverse group. Does seem some of the churches in Fresno could step forward for the poor, but there's a new Jesus about and he never said "Feed my sheep."

9. Help contact Gov officials
Gov Jerry Brown http://gov.ca.gov/m_contact.php

Lt Gov Gavin Newsom http://www.ltg.ca.gov/m_contact.asp

Attorney General Harris http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=PL

Here is a sample.

How can the State of CA continue to allow the City of Fresno abuse the Human Right of it's citizens ? I am sickened to see what the State of CA continues to allow the City do to its most vunerable. For 10 years they have been tearing down and trashing people who are homeless last possessions. The City officials lie to the public when they say they are helping them. They might help 1% and then abuse the rest. Mike Rhodes has documented this for at least 10 years in his local "Community Allance". I had hoped with a Democrat controlled Government it would stop. How sad it hasn't. Please help.

I'm attaching one of the postings I have put out there hoping someone would help.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Also here is Mike's articles for the past 10 years. It is inhumane
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/10/22/18694453.ph...

and the progressive's press conference before the recent trashing.
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/10/26/18695320.ph...

Please do something to stop this or more homeless people will die.
