Good support for Occupy Tampa.
Readers show support for Occupy Tampa

The graph from the website:

Friday, October 28, 2011

The majority of readers who responded to the latest Business Pulse survey agree with Occupy Tampa and said “corporate greed needs to be addressed.”

Out of 1,440 total responses, 49 percent agree with Occupy Tampa; 29 percent do not agree with the movement and said protestors “are against the capitalist system.” Eight percent agree with the movement but said they would not be rallying with protestors.

There is a great picture from BayNew9 from October 20 of Occupy Tampa.

The group is voicing concerns over harrassment from the Tampa Police.

I found an interesting video of the police dismantling the really nice and sturdy display table of the protestors....and then taking it away.

Dismantling Occupy Tampa's table

Wonder if they gave it back to them?

1. Nationwide Strikes are Next
We badly need nationwide strikes of nonessential workers to go with these protests. And we need essential workers like farm workers, medical professionals, and power plant workers to stand in solidarity with everyone else by refusing to show up for their shifts if the strikers are refused essential goods and services.

We can't take down the power structure by simply walking a picket line. The only way to hurt them is to hurt their wallets and that means no work.

As for the agent provocateurs and other spreaders of lies, no educated leftist would ever fall for the anti-semite racist trash we've been accused of over these protests. In fact, many educated leftists are Jewish, by ethnicity, religion, or both. Hopefully most Americans have the sense to know that our government and others in power will do whatever it takes to smear this movement and won't be as gullible as the press is.

2. Not bad support from an area where Tea Parties are strong.
And actually the area from which many arose.
