ABC 7 News shuts cameras off on Occupy Oakland as police attack with gas
(TheWeatherSpace.com) - This is not usually something TWS reports on but no other 'media' outlet will. During the Occupy Oakland march tonight (Tuesday), ABC News in the Bay area shut cameras off on the ground and in the sky the moment police attacked.

They said the chopper needed to refuel and will be back, but we all know this was not correct. A coincidence that both CBS and ABC choppers needed to refuel at the time police started attacking?

This is the constitution, protests are allowed by it. For CBS and ABC to shut the cameras off during the time police violated the rights of the American people is journalism at the worst, in fact not even close to the integrity a real media outlet should bring.

1. The M$M is wholly owned by and works for the 1%
That's all you really need to know, everything else is just commentary.

2. Who owns ABC?
There's your answer. ABC is just another cog in the Corporate Controlled Conservative Press.

12. The Boys own ABC
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Capital_Cities_Communications

It's actually owned by Disney. Time to boycott Disney.

Look up Bill Casey (CIA Director) as part of your search term.

3. I can't BELIEVE they're still behaving as though these were
dangerous people that need to be quelled after what happened (and all the media attention) to Scott Olsen.

This is becoming a NIGHTMARE.

5. Police orders nationwide must be to push and shove and attack until protesters do so as well
so police will have carte blanche to do what they do best...nationwide.

17. I've wanted to think well of the street cops
But if those are their orders and they obey those orders, they're simply violent thugs and need to be taken out.

Of course, we don't know if those are their orders. Either way, we desperately need more independent journalists with the ability to upload live feed and cover escalations from multiple angles.

6. I don't believe that for a minute. News organizations are unscrupulous when it comes to doing
whatever it takes to get the story.

There is no way that a TV news crew passes on a story like that.

7. News has dramatically changed over the years. Most only film and report only
what their corporate masters dictate. Unfortunately that is the truth.

16. Interesting fantasy world you live in
It may be how TV crews are portrayed in movies, but that's as far is it goes.

18. you have got to be kidding me!!!
well, let's see we got the embedded so called journalists covering the war--those not embedded most got killed by our military. Wouldn't want those pesky journalists to report the wrong thing. And I noticed all that coverage they gave hundreds of thousands of people protesting before we bombed iraq. The MSM was falling over themselves to cover thousands and thousands of people protesting, especially in Washington. Of course, when you have corporate networks who happen to be in defense contracting will make some bucks off of war, well, I can see why covering those protesters isn't in their best interests.

You don't have very many brave, truth telling journalists now days--you've got ass kissing talking parrots. Those brave journalists, like Danny Casolero, Ng, and many who have perished attempting to tell the truth in our war zones put their life on the line for truth. Nope, not too many truthtellers today, just some shallow corporate toadies.

And those who are told by their network masters to repeat the lies to the public are fired if they don't. Just ask faux about firing people who refuse to fabricate their BS. Oh, and I believe a judge sided with the network-apparently they have the right to lie to the public.

15. My house is 1 1/2 mile from city center. I heard helicoptors all
Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. I was up most of the night and the copter noise never let up. I'm pretty sure those were local TV stations copters up there. One even lit up our back yard at one point, probably a mistake.

OPS grounded their helicopter in 2009 due to lack of funds. When it was flying you could find it up in Claremont Canyon and canyons south doing dives. Always amusing to us pot heads up on Thorndale and Elverton.
