In Case You Missed This... LOL... 'GOP Is The New Black' Claim Texas Billboards
'GOP is the new black' claim Texas billboards

GOP is the New Black billboard in Austin, Texas

<snip>

Conservative group Raging Elephants delivered what they call "a gut shot to socialists" when they unveiled three new billboards in Austin, Texas touting that the "GOP is the new black."

The ads were released to encourage more black voters to embrace the Republican party. Raging Elephants contends that many African-Americans share conservative viewpoints on a number of social issues such as abortion and marriage and should vote that way.

Raging Elephants is linked to conservative activist Apostle Claver Kamau-Imani, who recently said that Democrats are the party of the Klu Klux Klan. His image is prominent on two of the four ads, which the group hopes will "stir up a storm on the plantation."

18. That's the only thing I could think of, too. How stupid are these people?
Don't answer. There isn't enough room on DU to list them one by one.

5. Funny (not)
they make mention of the plantation.

The more they want to pretend things change, the more they look like the same old idjits.

6. That's not the message I first got...much different.
Given that you don't have time to really read and study billboards while you're driving past them at speed, this one seems to fail miserably at conveying the message stated in the article. My take-away was that the GOP was feeling persecuted and beat down, and it was time to fight back. Either way, it is an incredibly stupid billboard for an incredibly stupid party.

7. "A gut shot to socialists?" Uh... I don't think so.
If they weren't such flaming asshats, it'd be almost cute to see how highly people like Kamau-Imani regard themselves.

9. The only gut shot about this is the belly laughs around Austin
In fact it could be dangerous to drive around these billboards. Austin traffic is bad enough and with people laughing uncontrablly, someone could get hurt.

10. HAHAH, I thought it was an unwitting slam on the GOP, till I saw the whole post.
I thought it meant GOP is the new outcast group..........only, the GOP deserve that status

some apostle, focusing on "morality"-driven hate issues rather than on economic and human rights issues,

15. The Ku Klux Klan were ultra conservatives
Back in the day, there were liberal and conservative wings in both parties. Now, the modern Republic Party is entirely composed of conservatives, the true heirs of the Klan.

20. So their message is
"Embrace your bigotry! Vote for Republicans to show gays and women their place!".

I'm thinking that's probably not going to work.
