That evening, agent provocateurs threw bottles, rocks and firecrackers and police then attacked the protesters with teargas, which is exactly what the provocateurs wanted.

The police need to stop buying into this and instead respond by making individual arrests whenever possible, and if their subsequent investigation turns up anything shady on the people they arrested, like a past as an informant, for example, they need to make that information public.

I know it's not always possible to wade in and arrest someone who is pelting police from a crowd, but if it comes down to it, and someone attacks the guys with guns when they guys with guns aren't attacking us, I'll be happy to shove the idiot front and center, whether he's a provocateur or just has a death-wish.

Getting violent with police when they aren't being violent with us is lethally stupid and uncalled for.
