Report: NYPD steers drunks to Occupy Wall Street
Two different drunks I spoke with last week told me they’d been encouraged to “take it to Zuccotti” by officers who’d found them drinking in other parks, and members of the community affairs working group related several similar stories they’d heard while talking with intoxicated or aggressive new arrivals.

“He’s got a right to express himself, you’ve got a right to express yourself,” I heard three cops repeat in recent days, using nearly identical language, when asked to intervene with troublemakers inside the park, including a clearly disturbed man screaming and singing wildly at 3 a.m. for the second straight night.

4. This is the creation of another excuse to kick them out.
Get more neighbors to complain, etc.

7. In Athens, Exarchia district
the local people (ie. anarchists) cleared their central plaza from bad behaving junkies and pushers themselves. Physical violence and threat of more was involved.

There is heavy police presence in Exarchia, but they are not there to protect and serve local people but just to oppress, always wearing riot gear.

8. why do the cops hate the protesters so much...
Don't they know the people on Wall Street look at them with utter contempt unless, of course, they save them from a collapsing building or something...

11. The cops are authoritarians. They hate anyone and everyone who does not
blindly obey whoever the cops decide is in charge.

9. You know, that happened here on our second weekend.
A well-known local LaRouche troublemaker who walks around with his "Impeach Obama in a Hitler moustache" banner was standing with us. We asked the one police officer we saw if he could encourage him to move on, but we got that same "He has first amendment rights, too" speech. It's hard to argue with, unfortunately.

12. Time for a sting.
All we need are some volunteers to get drunk and rowdy and a camera person to get the cops telling them to go hither to yon zucatti park.
