Joe Paterno is a big Republican force in local, state and national politics
York, PA - Joe Paterno has been a prominent supporter of the Pennsylvania Republican Party, and spoke at a George W. Bush campaign rally at the York Expo Center in 2004. His son, Scott Paterno, was a congressional candidate that year.

But York County Republican Chairman A. Carville "Peck" Foster said he doubts the scandal or Paterno's retirement will have any kind of lasting effect on the party. For all of Paterno's prominence among the state Republican Party, he was ultimately a celebrity endorsement rather than a policy setter.

2. Word is that Tom Ridge is campaigning fto replace
Spanier.
I do wonder if Sandusky was the only pedophile involved here.
PSU should withdraw from college football for the rest of the season

3. College and High School Football is over-rated anyway
Most the comedic takes on high school football coaches in movies came from real experiences

I wrestled in high school, my coach was OK
but now days they earn more than teachers and in college, more than NFL players.

I just want to remind people

HE'S A FUCKING REPUBLICAN.

4. Spanier is a Democrat. I think this whole thing goes waaaaay beyond politics
Both Spanier and Paterno knew about it and covered it up. This isn't about politics imho, but about the culture of big college football money, hero worship, the cult of football etc.

His son was the bigger republican of the two but was also a buffoon. This isn't about politics, Joe was for the most part neutral in his donations.

7. I love your spin
But if you think that its not politics then
you don't know shit,

the coverup at Bush 1 with
child abuse at the white house is well documented.
