I recently got in a FB fight (less important in the scheme of things than they should be, but exhausting nonetheless) wherein I decided righties who call for austerity should called what they are: MOOCHES. It went on and on, got slightly nastier than it should have, (I vented about it here) and a few people messaged me to show support. Well, *ONE* of my otherwise SUPER apolitical friends *lit* it up...
Read this:
Political rant time : I have seen just about enough of these dickhead cops pepper spraying the shit out of the occupy protestors. This country was built on people who stood up to greed, oppression and class warfare. What's is happening in the streets of America is flat out unconstitutional!
Who the hell gave the police the right to use the most powerful spray on the market at point blank range on peaceful protestors ? I swear these pricks get off on it, there are hundred different ways to get the job done ... Brutally bashing people , pepper spraying and stomping are just a few of the ways these jackasses have been using their little smidgen of power granted them.
I think the government should embrace the movement for doing what they are to afraid to do ... Stand up for something besides their own asses. We all know that they haven't been able to even balance the budget let alone go after global corporations that get rich off tax incentives an shoddy tariffs. Hell even their super committee failed quite superbly ... Do you see those whores to corporate America getting pepper sprayed ? No they get a F'ing annual raise for doing nothing more than campaigning for re-election.
When is the last time a politician inspired or rallied you to something ... When is the last time you felt good about the direction of the country ? You know what inspires politicians today ... Greed, lobbyists, shady back room deals,bloated campaign fundraisers, bogus tax breaks for Companies that have record profits quarter after quarter. Balloon retirement packages to CEO's who have done nothing more than run companies into the ground and overseas ... Most of them holding their position for short tenures ..
If people want to stand up for us because the politicians don't then I'm all for it. The media certainly will not It cover it ... Not with their puff pieces, if it bleeds it leads mentality and general goal of public apathy. No one gets the interview or lead if they're a troublemaker.
I have yet to hear about how the rest of us citizens are upset over the people protesting ... If they want to its their inalienable right to do so ... Peacefully ... In fact I hear just the opposite. People are behind them ... Because 99% of us have hade enough
(aside: I changed the very last percentage from the original 90% to the totally OWS 99%, for the sake of integrity) On this Thanksgiving, I am glad to have friends like that one!!!!
