Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Police Chief Charlie Beck plan to hold a press conference about the City Hall grounds where Occupy LA demonstrators have been camped for weeks.

The mayor's office would not elaborate in advance on what will be said at the 4 p.m. Friday press conference.

4. L.A. Mayor: Occupy camp at City Hall to be closed at 12:01am Monday

From his press conference:

Flyers about closure will be handed out on-site in advance.

Social workers will visit the site to offer information about health and other resources available.

Fifty shelter beds will be opened specifically for occupiers who are homeless and need a place to stayi. (Police Chief says an additional 50 beds will be opened later in the week.)

Police Chief said, "That does not mean that we will physically remove people at 12:01."
