4. Here's the best description of him I've ever read
Sorry, no link.

Newt Gingrich, who would put a hot-air balloon to shame with all his smug bloviation, is rising to the top of the polls like fat globules in three-day-old soup.

Mr. Pomposity is a master of the erudite, faux-intellectual sneer, and much of what he says, though ultimately incoherent, sounds very compelling. His condescending verbiage is littered with derogatory references, such as “European Socialism”, “Saul Alinsky”, and “Kenyan neo-colonial behavior”, as if any of his followers (or anyone else for that matter) actually understand what these mean. Hypnotized by Gingrich’s arrogant, all-knowing tone rather than any rational substance, the partisans of the right can be depended upon to succumb to any excuse for righteous outrage.

10. Perfect. That's from "Nancy's Starlight News Blog", Here's an excerpt and a link:
(she's got him down to a tee)

Marshmallow Fluff

November 15, 2011

A new flavor-of-the-month is emerging out of the sludge known as the Republican presidential nominating process. Shall we call it Vanilla Flake? Or maybe Marshmallow Fluff? In any event, Newt Gingrich, who would put a hot-air balloon to shame with all his smug bloviation, is rising to the top of the polls like fat globules in three-day-old soup.

We have an unconfirmed birth time for Gingrich: 11:45 PM, on June 17, 1943, in Harrisburg, Pa. Thus, any aspects involving the Moon, the Ascendant, or the Midheaven are not fully reliable. Nonetheless, we persevere.

With four planets in Gemini and an Aquarius Ascendant, Gingrich lives in the world of ideas, and is an inordinately successful orator and writer. However, his Sun (26Gemini02) is opposite the Moon (25Sagittarius10), together making a T-square with Neptune (29Virgo17), pushing Gingrich toward a lifetime of hyperbolic phrasing designed more to agitate than to inform rationally. The key to understanding Neptune is that it creates the illusion of things without the substance. It can bring self-deception as well as the deception of others, usually through exaggerated emotions, wishful thinking, and distorted facts.

14. I'm always amazed at those who call him 'smart'.
If one actually listens to what is said when he speaks, it makes little or no actual sense.

He'll make obscure references to Confederate military action at Chancellorsville when asked about what role the IMF should play in Nigeria.

That's just another layer of how troublesome this is, the very existence of the tea party requires ignorance, often willful ignorance.

53. I call that the "Billy Graham" effect. My mother, though not Christian ...
...always said, "That Billy Graham is a brilliant man." And then they broadcast one of his "Crusades." And to my adolescent, but critical mind he was speaking nonsense. I mean it was just drivel, unless you believed it meant something. My mother had mistaken "brilliant sounding" for brilliant.

Newt is what has come down through the ages to be known as a bullshit artist. He is a very skillful one, because he can bedazzle a whole lot of people with little to offer.

The top 1% of household incomes is $350,000 and higher.

I'm pretty confident his household brings in that much and more.

37. Newt is more verbose than intelligent.
When we have the precedence of Bu**sh** being unable to string even one coherent sentence together, except on the same principle that allows even a broken clock to be right twice a day, plus the gaffe-generating subroutines that populate the heads of his rivals for the nomination, Newt seems like a genius in comparison -- but ONLY by comparison. If you keep setting the bar lower, eventually, one Republican will pass. But you don't declare him some kind of champion -- rather, you recognize that the Republican Party is intellectually bankrupt.
