Usually, I play ostrich with environmental bad news because it's too depressing and
it makes me feel too helpless, but I'll use this post for two headlines. You can read the stories, or not, as you wish.

The climate liars might find their exalted position challenged if we are visited by a wholesale climate flip. By then it could well be too late.

According to scientists studying ice core samples, climate change is not a gradual process. Suddenly a threshold is reached, then, BAM, climate change. The storms, droughts and floods are strange and alarming. Then we have the weird Derecho storm that hit us here in Ohio in June. It was especially unsettling because at 60 years old I have never in my entire life experienced such an odd storm. The only thing similar in my mind was the blizzard of 1978.
