America the Beautiful
I just got home from a trip (800 miles each way) to a little Texas panhandle town. On the road, I saw a great country, thousands of of semis loaded with goods of every kind, tons of history (a lot of my trip was on I-49, the old Route 66). The railroad trains were hauling too. Yeah there are sad parts, like the old towns now passed by the interstate, when the road used to go through downtown. But my overwhemlming feeling was of a vast, powerful country and commerce, different people, all together. This is a good place, politics be damned. The snow storm around Tucumcari all the way to Albuquerque was scary but awesome. The ride down the Rio Grande Valley to Hatch and on to my small Arizona town was graced by mountains and fields of pecans and peppers and beauty. I love this place.

1. You know, we need to remember this sort of thing...
It's so easy to get caught up in the ugly political stuff.

We forget that there is a wonderful, vibrant, historical country out there, just waiting to be discovered...

Thank you...

Recommended for your eloquence!

I have heard of impending doom, etc. We all want things to improve socially. To me, the main issue will always be the wars. WAR
But we need to count the good things too. Not the politicians or the politics, but the source, our country.
I would say that it was a gut feeling.
