While the repeal of DADT will help GBL people get one step closer
Edited on Fri Dec-17-10 05:32 PM by undergroundpanther
to being real citizens in this country with the rights of any hetero white christian male.....

Be aware it won't do crap for the rights of trans-people in the military... We being the T added to GBL..It feels like we are almost like an afterthought there on the acronym of .. GBLT,..

Truth is if you are transgender ,DADT won't help you one bit in moving to getting equal rights, or human rights from this so tolerant of the bigoted people in this nation holding back so many human beings.Because if you are transgendered and in the military, you get to stay in the closet.

So you better not cringe soldier, when you are called pronouns of the wrong gender, and don't try to change your birth name or sex designationif you want to serve. If you have transitioned never tell anyone what your past gender was and don't let it ever slip, and if your gender is expressed far ,far away from base for damn sure don't 'sneak hormones or get caught with traces of makeup on when you get called in...soldier,your 'manboobs' are getting bigger..(ha ha)( hide 'n'cry)

Yeah I'm happy for the lesbians bisexuals and gay folks..,but I am a tad bitter today,I spent two days on the phone fighting a bureaucratic web trying to get my testosterone patches refilled,I have been wearing patches every other day,and my emotions were becoming more labile.I won the fight (this time)and for another year I will feel saner..

The stress of all the shit I face as a trans-man is killing me,My Trans women friends face this crap too and they get treated bad by others too I worry about my sisters and brothers..The straight and gay bigots really make me pissed off..(DMV christianazi story for instance)and I am so tired of this shit. The few gays that act like trans-people are the problem as to why they can't get rights infuriates me.. Do people ever consider how does it feel to be the scapegoat of a community of scapegoats, already scapegoated by the straight world? It sucks, times 2.

But I will fight for the rights of gays, but somehow among some part of the GBL community we transpeople are still not REALLY included as part of this fight yet we fight right along side the GBL...We are still not getting treated a bit more like human beings, even though the Stonewall riot was started because of a trans-woman's shoe heard round the world..It is so frustrating and sad...Don't people realize if one kind of humanity is oppressed we ALL are?

How long until straight and certain gay people GET OVER IT,and realize transgender people,gender-queer people, and other identites/sexualities DO exist, are as legit as men loving men and women loving women? Hell my identity is a GAY MAN,A transman who likes MEN. When will the people STOP this petty crap and let us BE who and what we ARE and treat usas true allies and equals as we fight alongside the gbl community for the same human rights??!!
Arrrgh!*sad forehead slap*

1. It is terribly difficult.
I have several friends in various stages of transition and it is just such an emotional thing to go through. Emotional because of the way people treat you or the occasional creepy, long stares you might get (I was stunned at how people felt they had the right to stare at someone like that) and because of the very nature of transitioning. Everything is harder, everything. I can't even begin to understand what it is like but I have been there with others and I know it is damned hard, I doubt I could take it and I am pretty tough.

We have your back for what it is worth. The fight for you is going to be harder but fight we will. Not until everyone has equality can we give it up.

(((hugs))) Wish hugs could help.

 I appreciate everyone who gets what I am saying and fights with us.. Please don't let this sink like a stone. The fight is not over.

Someday maybe that evil sickness of discrimination for no justified reason against others who are different than the status quo of the time will die.Can you imagine no discrimination over who a person IS in their own identity. Can you imagine a world where no one,was no longer considered less worthy than others are of human rights & respect? and no more the basic sustenance required to live based on what they identify as within them self and what they look like on the outside,or whom they love in an adult relationship?

Can you imagine a world where everyone had a right to BE WHO AND WHAT THEY really ARE? without fear of being hurt, abused, exploited or discriminated against, bullied or hated when they are causing no one to suffer because of who they are,who they love and what their true identity is or how they look..or what they wear?

If I think about this dream too much I tend to cry,and the tears will burn my eyes and my face.

My true gender identity is male, sexually a male/androgyny,I'm furry( a hybrid feline)and I like guys so I'm gay, mostly. But anyone who gains my trust and love to a deep and soul level ,I love them, for who & whatever they ARE inside and the outside flaws dissappear they are just beautiful and precious to me...they become beauty itself.
