13. John Ritter died of it
So did John Lennon, though in his case, Mark Chapman's bullet caused the dissection.

36. Aortic dissection really scares me
I'm in its high-risk zone: I'm 52 and overweight, but I also keep physically active. My other cardiac "biomarkers" are more like those of a man in his mid-30s.

John Ritter was in the same situation. Richard Holbrooke was also a chubby, active guy.

The day can't come too soon when my BMI is back in the 20s.

11. If the tear was over 6 cm
there was no way.

They are very much lethal.

As to Chenney being alive... he has no pulse... no, not kidding, and he looks like a zombie... or death warmed over.

In a way having him watch the fall of the Empire will be it's own reward.

Sorry Richard, this thread shouldn't be turned into a pissing match by the spelling police.

23. Actually, it seems very important to spell the man's name correctly.
I corrected it. That's all. Respect for the man, if you don't mind. He has a name. The least we can do is spell the dead man's name correctly.

25. I'm sure Richard Holbrooke is grateful to you as he passes on. He will remember
Edited on Mon Dec-13-10 08:12 PM by boston bean
you asked to have his name corrected in a thread where someone was trying to get the news to us quickly and mistyped.

And that was the only thing you said. No RIP, no condolence to his family. Nothing. Just Holbrooke, Please.

U.S. diplomat Richard Holbrooke dead at 69

Associated Press
Posted: 12/13/2010 04:57:44 PM PST
Updated: 12/13/2010 04:57:44 PM PST

An administration official says Richard Holbrooke, a longtime U.S. diplomat who wrote part of the Pentagon Papers, was the architect of the 1995 Bosnia peace plan and served as President Barack Obama's special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, has died. He was 69.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the family had yet to make a formal announcement of Holbrooke's death Monday in Washington.
Holbrooke, whose forceful style earned him nicknames such as "The Bulldozer" or "Raging Bull," was admitted to George Washington University Hospital in the nation's capital on Friday after he became ill. He had surgery Saturday to repair a torn aorta.
