George W Bush shat in the middle of the floor...
...and now, the whole world is slipping and sliding and blaming each other for not cleaning it up. IN the meantime, the drunken fratboy, former President, is still drinking and telling his tales.

He was to be on C-SPAN today. In the ad for the interview, he appeared to have been on a month-long drunk. He has totally lost touch with whatever reality there was left. His dragging and slurring of words was more pronounced than ever.

It is immeasurable the damage that this one guy did, with the assistance of his political Party, the Republicans. Our nation may never recover. The whole world was damaged by his ideas and policies.

We should never forget that when he took office, there was a balanced budget and a $5-trillion surplus was forecast for our future. Now, look at where we are. Obama inherited a depression and a budget that was totally out of whack and has been trying to stabilize it since he was sworn into office.

Although we may disagree with this President on many issues, we should not forget who put us into this mess. Ooops! There goes another down!

2. It will take at least 10 years to fix this
IF we can fix it. Iraq is typical of an end-of-an-empire move and we told them that.

But hey he paid all the seed money to create a private military (Blackwater - Xe) to protect him and his kind.

11. Looks like it is time to call Big Dawg in for a consult....
I was telling my husband today that if I were Obama, Clinton would be called the White House and consulted to help clean up the mess W made for all of us. But oh, this is Obama's fault. BULLHOCKEY!

6. Our nation will recover, but we have to realize that Reagan was NOT great
I know your post was about Bush, but Bush was just extending and expanding Reagan's policies. I don't think we ever would have had Bush Jr. if Reagan and his minions hadn't been so successful at deifying him. For us to recover as a nation, we must realize that Reagan was not a great president, but a failed one, and that his policies were what got us into the mess we're now in. Politicians today cannot do what is right for this country because Reagan is considered a de facto god. His ideals cannot be criticized or countered without committing political suicide.

Read Robert Parry's excellent article;

27. And Reagan was a mutation of Nixon who
was just a mouthpiece for the same fuckers who funded the John Birch Society who financed this entire thing going back to the Barry Goldwater defeat.

We have to realize that these rich fuckers (Koch Bros. et. al.) have long agendas, long memories. This is why they need to be eliminated and impoverished. Destroy their wealth and kill them all. Leave them with nothing so that their heirs cannot bring this shit back again using money that their daddies stole. If we don't want to deal with them initially then we can just do to them the mossad did to the terrorists after the Munich Olympics. Hunt them down if we have to. Leave them with no where to hide.

...G.O.P.-teabaggers will never live down the damage done by bush/cheney administration without either conveniently forgetting or outright LYING to the people's faces like they have done especially during the last 2 years.

HEY REPUBLICANS! WHERE ARE THE JOBS?!

15. I'm really not comfortable with making light of people's addictions. It's really not funny.
And if indeed Shrub did/has relapsed, it does nothing but discourage us who really are fighting this disease every day. Celebrating someone's relapse on DU is kind of a slap in the face to those of us really struggling to overcome it.

16. I'm sorry you read the post as making light of people's addictions...
Nobody is trying to "celebrate" his relapse. If that was his only problem, we could all show compassion. He was an evil torturer that ruined our country. Sorry it was misinterpreted.

18. I understand you think I misinterpreted. But there were no less than 4 references to drinking...
in the OP, including calling a recovered (allegedly I admit) alcoholic a 'drunken fratboy.'. My only point is that there's plenty of things to go after Bush for that allow us to avoid taking political advantage of a man's personal demons.

20. As someone in recovery, then you know that one alcoholic affects at least 4 family members
so when an alcoholic is leading the country, everyone is affected.

It will take more than 10 years for the country to heal from his choices. His black and white thinking and dry but not sober mind has long, long term consequences for all of us. He thought God was talking to him when he invaded Iraq; he destroyed decades of trust the US had with allies, etc.

Comparing oneself to Bush is not really comparable. He was a public figure and with that choice he gave up his anonymity. Every day in his life he can make the choice to get not just physically sober, but emotionally sober too.

31. His drinking is only a manifestation
of a personality that is defective in so many ways. He appeared to be just as dangerous without a drink as with one. If he was just "Joe Nobody", he would be that annoying, know-it-all guy in the neighborhood bar that even the hard-core drunks avoid. I've known so many like him, but fortunately they never ended up in a position of power.

Being a drunk was one of Bush's better qualities.

28. I disagree.
IMHO he isn't and has never tried to get with recovery. By his own words he never did a 12 step program - he just prayed and then decided he wasn't an addict anymore. Not much struggle there - it is avoidance and blame. If you've been at a 12 step meeting then you've likely met those who are full of shit like Bush. And they are steps ahead of Shrub because at least they are trying to get better.

That isn't a slap in the face of any addict who is struggling. But yah - anyone trying to get better deserves our support.

32. Pretty obvious
It's pretty obvious that ex-president cheney's errand-boy shrub NEVER stopped drinking. He only steadily increased it as time marched on and he followed the orders of his bosses to destroy America.

Documentation of his never-sober state from the "choke on a pretzel" incident (really his drunken fall) to his Beijing hijinx are all on youtube.

34. You are right.
The evidence is clear to those with experience.

For example, I was working in a max security facility when Cheney shot that lawyer in the face while hunting and then blamed the lawyer for stopping the shot. And the right wing, used to arms, mostly hunting on a regular basis, shoot alot and are heavily armed at home, 2nd amendment supporting co-workers all said to a person that Cheney was guilty and should be in jail - that anyone who didn't know EXACTLY where the shot was going BEFORE pulling the trigger was criminally responsible.

Bush was a unrepentant drunk and coke addict. And the right adores him still - sigh.
