Don't be so negative. We've achieved a great victory.

7. Lol.
I can't tell if you are making fun of the sparse return you are getting or making a comment on the excessive tax cuts for the rich.

Or maybe you are loaded and want to stimulate the economy?

4. The continuation of the tuition tax credits...
...means my tax refund in March will pay my oil bills for the winter.

I realize this makes me a Vichy Democrat, but there it is.

6. No, that's important.
The problem is they're taking thousands for every dollar we manage to pry out of their plump hands.

9. You, and most of DU, would rather me pay more for my oil, which I would notice
and they pay more in taxes, which they would not, to prove a point.

Thanks loads.

10. Not at all. We all buy oil.
Of course, those that sell the oil are the greater beneficiaries of this legislation.

8. Yes!
This bill will ensure people arent smacked in the face at tax time. Many have come to rely on the nest egg they have been getting at tax time.

11. As usual, our refund will go straight to paying ...
our second-half property-tax bill. Which I truly appreciate. We'd be in kind of hot water scraping that money together without our Federal refund.

I guess it's robbing Peter to pay Paul, but that's how the cookie crumbles. (I deserve a prize for combining two lame metaphors into one short sentence.)

16. The same place I've been spending it
On gas, utilities, and property taxes. All of which have gone up tremendously over the last decade. All of which collect taxes by a percentage, so it could be argued they just get all the tax money back.

pay the fuel bill. Since I am on Social Security I will not be doing that any time soon.

That is a lot. Probably going to put it toward the downpayment on our second home or toward retirement. Can't count on social security to be there in 35 years.
