I am so glad DADT will be repealed. And you know, it feels good to have a victory.

I feel things have been kind of depressing lately. This feels pretty darn good if you ask me.

In my mind, I offer a toast to the gay soldiers I gladly served with when I was in the Army.

1. I silently toast all the gay soldiers I've known
as peers and patients, no longer having to live in fear that they'll be found out and their benefits stripped.

Welcome home.

3. Kudos to the LGBT
But to be honest, this is the cheapest victory of all. It should have been done in the first year, and the only thing gained is that now gays can be corporate cannon fodder.

5. They can CHOOSE to serve now, or if they feel like you, CHOOSE *NOT* to serve
being able to serve in the military is MUCH more than just being 'corporate cannon fodder' and the people who volunteer to serve know this.

I so wish we had a universal service requirement in this country. I am so tired of shitheads denigrating the choice to serve.

6. A salute and a toast to my gay fellow soldiers whom I may have served with.
From a straight veteran, here's to your, and our, victory!

:patriot::toast:
