7. The loaves of bread guy...
He was apparently protesting in Yeman:

In Yemen, one protester was even more inventive - he created a makeshift helmet with two baguettes, a chapatti and clingfilm.

16. Exactly. All of that. and ingenious.
fighting a regime with bare hands and rocks, against thugs with guns and swords and machetes, and perhaps worse to come, is heartbreakingly courageous, especially since many have stated if they lose, the regime will hunt them down and kill them.
And so, they do the best they can with what they have.

8. The bottles and the turban + redundant box may help. The others...
...not so much. Though the concrete slab would work against a direct batton strike from above well enough.

11. The scarf that guy in last pic has? We have one just like it.
Given to us by a Syrian, friend of ours when we were in SF.
I wanted to put it on a flag pole outside the house, but Mr. d vetoed the idea.
In this fundie GOP community, he is probably right.

Whatever works, that's what I say. ;)

It's not your typical G.I.Joe outfit but, these people are putting their lives on the line for freedom and making do with what's available.

26. Yep, those are the SAME guys too. I tried to find a picture of their catapult on Google to no avail.

The build quality on these guys' catapult looked much better that the one pictured above. I'm thinking one of these guys must be a carpenter or something.
