9. You know, at his age, with the comfort of the multimillions he has access to because of
his wife, rather than pander to the most reactionary, bigoted members of his party in hopes of getting reelected in 6 years when there is a good chance he won't even still be alive, you would think that he would be thinking in terms of his historical legacy and wanting to fix a place for himself in the history books as a "maverick" who bucked the worst behaviors and polciies of his party to do the right thing for the country and for the people he supposedly serves.

Frankly, I bought his "maverick" act, but it did win him a lot of approval, so I am surprised that he doesn't want to do everything in his power to hold on to that image rather than looking like the nasty, reactionary, bigoted old flip-flopping fool he now looks like to just about everyone. He has lots and lots of money and is not likely to need to serve more than the 6 more years he just got reelected to, so wtf is the old idiot doing?

11. He's still pissed off at losing the presidency that he thought belonged to him.
And doubly pissed off that it was to a non-white.

15. So you think he is just being as contrarian as he possibly can, as a way

of stomping his feet and shaking his fists at the people who didn't give him the prize he thought was his by right? Considering his spoiled brat personality, that certainly fits.

18. The guy is a loose cannon, always has been and always will be ... He thinks he
should get a free pass as a POW. A lot of my friends died in Viet Nam. I'm glad he served his country and it's horrible he was a POW, but his legacy in that area is wearing thin on me and many others I know. Like a False Flag, he was a False Maverick IMO, doing whatever to get votes. Yep, and he is a nasty, reactionary, bigoted old flip-flopping fool. I would think he would want a good image too, apparently not.

13. I know an octogenarian + who is very encouraging about "these days"
She's somewhere about 90. She was one of the first women doctors ever.

She gave assurance that the pendulum would shift back to liberalism.

14. Yesterday and today, they debated that amendment - and the contrast between him and Kerry was huge
His arguments were poor - and repeated even after they were refuted. In addition, it was clear that the real power advocate was McCain or Barasso, who seemed to be his minnie me, but Kyl. Yesterday, Kerry spent a huge amount of time refuting all the Republicans with patience, grace, knowledge and incredible articulateness.
