What to expect from Bill O’Reilly’s Super Bowl interview of President Obama
The Super Bowl is certainly the most anticipated event for most Americans, but the true political junkies among us will also be anxious to see a pre-Super Bowl interview between Bill O’Reilly and President Obama. The Obama administration clearly granted the interview to O’Reilly on this date to try and draw a large audience. The interview will air live and is expected to last about 15 minutes. While both sides have not released any further details, we can make some fairly educated guesses on what the interview will be like.

O’Reilly previously was granted a rare Fox News interview with then-Senator Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign. O’Reilly asked pointed questions to Obama about “wealth redistribution” and a number of other hot button issues. O’Reilly frequently tried to cut off lengthy answers, and Obama would respond by arguing the question required a more detailed explanation. O’Reilly has said he will be more reluctant to interrupt President Obama as opposed to Senator Obama. Fox News also took some criticism for the number of times (16) Bret Baier interrupted the President in a March, 2010 interview. Generally presidents are given more respect in media interviews.

O’Reilly will almost certainly ask about the protests in Egypt and ask why the President has not been more forceful in calling for President Mubarak’s immediate resignation. O’Reilly, in reflecting a common concern of conservatives, might ask if the President is worried about the Muslim Brotherhood taking over Egypt. The budget deficit and debt ceiling are also likely to be topics of discussion given the pressing nature of each issue in the coming months.

1. I forgot about this interview. Thanks for the reminder.
Anyone know the time? I hate the thought of tuning into Fox.

Maybe I'll wait for the YouTube version.

6. You are welcome.
I don't watch TV, and I definitely don't watch football, but I thought people ought to know.

I am sure we will get to read a transcript later, but watching could tell us things that reading will not.

2. Expect me to not watch.
At the best this is a way for the President to show the viewers he doesn't have horns and a tail. I know many of us here feel we have some influence on national and international policy, but we don't. What happens in DC is totally and completely out of my sphere of influence. Having said that, I'd rather have a Democrat than Republican in office. But watch? What's the point for those of us who voted/support Mr. Obama? :bounce:
Oh, also the network better hope for a close contest at half time or many sets will be tuned to something else.............

3. Obama will charm O'reilly's falafoff.
And if...and I give it a less than 1 percent chance that Bill-Oh will do anything but softball questions......

IF...Bill-Oh were to try any thing beyond polite? Obama will eat him for a snack.

4. It makes me sick ...
... that Obama is doing this.

I don't even want to know what Obama and O'Lielly end-up schmoozing about on FoxPAC-TV.

7. I don't have a tv, nor have ever watched the stupor bowl,
nor am I a democrat, but I do admire Pres. Obama's way of kindly and politely dealing with his opponents.
