Four in 10 Americans Believe in Strict Creationism (And we wonder why progress is so slow)
Edited on Sat Dec-18-10 09:09 PM by LuckyTheDog
Gallup poll:

Four in 10 Americans, slightly fewer today than in years past, believe God created humans in their present form about 10,000 years ago. Thirty-eight percent believe God guided a process by which humans developed over millions of years from less advanced life forms, while 16%, up slightly from years past, believe humans developed over millions of years, without God's involvement.

5. Voluntary retardation
For some reason, the republican and religious nutjobs have had a much bigger influence on this country than on other countries. That means that we still have a lot more people clinging to the tooth fairy than elsewhere. I wonder why they've had so much success here, actually. Is it just that America had so much success early on that we became mentally lazy as a culture?

6. I think about that sometimes...
You might be onto something about the laziness. Europe went through two major wars and that sort of shook people out of a lot of delusions.

2. KO got it right with this line in reference to Lonesome Rhodes Beck the other night
And it applies perfectly in this instance to:

"This is what happens when you let stupid people out of their homes." -- KO

3. Someone on another thread referred to the "buy bull" belt.
I thought that was pretty apt.

But I'll try.
