So, what should be done?

We should simply vote them out after they have spent a dozen years in Washington. That is long enough to get done whatever they had plans of doing or the vision to do. They should either retire or the voters should send them home.

A lot of them are good people but the foundation of the government is more important than the ambitions of professional politicians, whichever Party or persuasion.

The reason they should leave is that they no longer have the will or the reason to vote for the people's interests over their own. They become ingrained within the bureaucracy.

In other words, we need to clean house from time to time. It is for the good of the people.

1. Every two years we have the opportunity to cull out the deadwood, but

usually 'the name you know' is reselected in the ongoing effort to provide them with a lifelong career.

Today there are more than 20 Senators in their 70's - 80's, 17 of whom are older than John McCain, and some say he is way too old to be there. How about the ones who are even older?

If an incumbent has not feathered his/her nest sufficiently after a couple of terms, he wasn't trying hard enough and someone new should be sent to belly up to the bar.

25 years of FDR would have been OK --

8 years of Reagan -- 8 too many!!

3. I would take Russ feingold and Ted Kennedy long term - we need honest public servants
We manage to get a lot of self -centered lemmings regardless of time in office

4. I'm opposed to term limits too
But I hope we'll soon rid ourselves of Sens. Snowe and Collins in the next election. I'm SO sick of the both of them. Grrr!
